Did you read the article? The author was trying to even out the test cases and successfully did so. He stated that the idiomatic code was faster for the 1 % as you can see by quote below:

The worst case became almost 4 times faster. And look how flat the branchless column is: the running time does not depend on the data anymore, exactly as we wanted.

Notice the price we paid though. At 1% kept the idiomatic version wins, because an almost always correctly predicted branch is nearly free, while the branchless version always pays for one million writes. Branchless code is not faster in general: it trades the best case for the worst case.
that's a really clever trick to write to out[n] multiple times but only move the index after the logical condition is true thus ending up with the correct values in out
im surprised anyone still uses windows... happy linux switcher for many years now, couldn't ever see myself going back to that trash, people that are okay with an operating system you purchased putting ads and popups in your face that you purchased and tracks every click you do are the same people that would go back to their girlfriend after she cheated on you for the 15th time in a row...

sorry if that sounds harsh, but it's my genuine opinion.

Re:Progressive JSON on Monday June 02, 2025 @11:33PM (#44166008)
I think the main issue with this goes against the fundamental vore principles of a json object has no internal order. If it was an ordered object it would be very different and maybe feasible. But you would have to change the complete standard if JSON. It makes no sense speaking of an object without order as if it has order in terms of "header" etc...
The more people they can fill the flight with the more lucrative it is to fly that route, it makes perfect sense. Just like milk prices are more expensive the less you buy, per liter.

Anyone being upset about this is just looking for reasons to be upset and maybe should go outside more and get a hobby.

if you are very tall they charge a lot extra for having tall sizes... what are you talking about??

How you dont consider such scenarios setting up your database is mind boggling to me. I do this for a living, albeit, marketing databases, but how you don't realize that people from all over the world live here too and you have to account for everyone is just astonishing to me...

This is a great watermark if the company's backend developers are awful or not. I work with this type of stuff and you have to be pretty awful to screw up a string variable "null" as an actual null value...
