I didn't realize he owns so little of the company.
Re:Anthropic S-1 on Monday October 26, 2026 @09:56AM (#50243786)
You've spent that money at subsidized prices but would you spend 5x if subsidies stop?
Re:I'm in a Meeting on Saturday October 10, 2026 @09:11AM (#50032598)
I appreciate the creativity, well done.
Amazing! I had no idea there were so many satellites, especially Starlink ones.
Re:GPT 6.1 Sol: Near-Astra intelligence for a fifth of the price on Tuesday September 29, 2026 @03:21PM (#49898959)
I don't understand any of this naming man. It just gets more confusing.
Re:AI companies leak data to advertisers [pdf] on Tuesday September 29, 2026 @10:05AM (#49893530)
Why do you think they are fighting so hard to dethrone Google?

Google is an ad company.

Nice work. Love to see some vintage HN content
Re:World Labs Is Joining AMD on Tuesday September 29, 2026 @12:20AM (#49888225)
Correct, this is an acquisition and will benefit AMD a lot. In fact, AMD has made some great acquisitions lately and are on a roll.

Love the screensaver
Re:Ask HN: How do you manage skills files? on Monday September 07, 2026 @02:12AM (#49594517)
Why do you use so many different agents if I may ask?
The robots will love this.
Re:Git hosting that never leaves Europe on Saturday September 05, 2026 @03:43PM (#49579982)
Is your code safe on hetzner though? I wanted to do something similar but I'm hesitant about what hetzner employees can see on the machines so I don't know how private and safe it would be to store code there.
Re:Nvidia agrees to acquire Hugging Face for $13B on Wednesday August 26, 2026 @11:30PM (#49459302)
We are so used to these numbers being thrown around in the AI era that something one needs a reminder that this is 13 billion, not million. Insane exit by HF.
My second brain is 500 open tabs of Notepad++
Excellent work!
Re:Ask HN: Alternatives to GitHub on Monday August 17, 2026 @12:29PM (#49333704)
Forgejo/Gitea is lightweight and easy to setup.
Re:Tell HN: GitHub Is Experiencing Degraded Performance on Monday August 17, 2026 @12:28PM (#49333676)
There is no reason to be on github anymore.

Your code will used for training and the platform enshitification has been accelerated by Microsoft. It would be wise to move to another platform or even better, host your own Gitlab/Forgejo/Gitea on a vps or at home.

Seems like that's the tradeoff with this model. Close to 27b intelligence while using less vram.
Re:Why Wall Street Is Ignoring Big Tech's Debt on Sunday August 09, 2026 @11:02AM (#49232050)
Won't the Chinese providers have to raise their prices as well due to the economics of serving inference at scale?
This is beyond my understanding. They are actually paying to stop society from advancing.
Re:The next chapter of our AI momentum on Wednesday August 05, 2026 @02:16PM (#49186713)
Maybe they are forced to use Google search.
Re:Pi's Minimalism Is Its Advantage on Wednesday August 05, 2026 @01:10AM (#49178789)
I love using Pi and its design philosophy. The minimalism is what resonates with me. It just works, update after update.
Re:Tailscale didn't stop the Hugging Face intrusion on Friday July 31, 2026 @05:02PM (#49128481)
The large attack surface is a good point. I started using it initially and the ease of setting up a vpn was nice, but then I came across few security vulnerability postings which led to concern so I went to Wireguard. I think they should reign in the features and treat it as a secure vpn first and foremost and remove unnecessary features to minimize the attack surface.
Re:Tailscale didn't stop the Hugging Face intrusion on Friday July 31, 2026 @04:57PM (#49128426)
That link is a list of incidents while the parent comment is referring to security audits of the code.
So cool, thanks!
Re:The AI Aesthetic on Friday July 31, 2026 @01:22AM (#49119298)
I believe it has to do with the size of the icons rather than placing the icon with a label. The AI trend is towards smaller icons. That being said, the more I look at the pic in the article, the more pleasing the smaller icons look to me. Perhaps we just didn't know any better.
Re:The AI Aesthetic on Friday July 31, 2026 @12:19AM (#49118960)
Why are tiny icons good abstractions?
Interested in this. Link please
Re:Advertise in ChatGPT on Wednesday July 22, 2026 @06:30AM (#49004514)
I never thought it would actually come to this, but here we are.
