The moral code of "living fucking sucks". If somebody makes the choice to stop living, they should be allowed to fulfil thart choice instead of being stopped, forcibly or otherwise.
The last one is bad because those people unfortunately chose to live that day.
Morally, you should've let all of these people die, except the last one.
It is Pavlov's dog experiment, where instead of the bell, you have an upvote Count conditioning and reinforcing behavior. Natural human interaction has never had a number placed next to every thought and utterance.
The numbers have fucked up the way people think and behave.
The important thing is you've found a way to feel superior to everyone. Ten points to you for being so immensely smart.
That's because the amazon bots are bad and don't know how to reply to themselves properly.
You scroll up, and then read each tweet.
I refuse to believe HN users are this genuinely ignorant about such a basic website. It's really nowhere near as hard to read as anyone here makes it out to be.
> If there is a backdoor, it is almost guaranteed China, Russia or any other country will eventually break it and potentially use it for blackmail to get their hands on corporate or national secrets.
Hell yes. Solidarity.
In the UK the "faux unlimited" providers actually are unlimited (source: downloaded about 14TiB over 3 months, nary a complaint)
> Michael Winterhoff’s Deutschland Verdummt claims that German children today “have no tolerance for frustration, and they avoid all exertion.” By the time they graduate, half of them still “have the psyche of a small child.” The author of eight previous books on childhood development, Winterhoff’s primary concern is that children today have become “tyrants.” They don’t know proper boundaries; they have not been taught how to submit to parental and social authority. And this, Winterhoff says, is entirely the fault of parents themselves. Beginning in the 1990s, they have treated their children like friends and partners instead of acting like authority figures and moral guides, preferring to allow children the freedom to develop and move at their own pace instead of submitting to the adult order of things.
Old man yells at cloud.
Surely if Elsevier was so bad the magical hand of the free market would simply have solved it by now.
The wording is clearly implying there are two valid sides, when there is not. The protestors are the valid side and they do not need to give a shit about the opinion of the CCP about full integration.
> I don't want a language that shoehorns my thinking into "one"-ness.
Reworrded for you:
> I don't like Python because I don't like Python
I would imagine their end game is "civil disruption".
A third party client's shitty coding broke the entire network repeatedly in early 2016. Third party clients are mostly used to spam users with userbots. The only sane option is to blanket ban them.
Incredible. The NY times have managed to "both sides" this. Genuinely impressive.
> In truth, there is a kind of Grand Unified Law, of which we are still working out the details, which we (whether we realize it or not) want companies to follow. It is law based on ethics and morality
Companies are unethical and immoral anyway, so this doesn't work.
Sure can't wait for anyone using this to be banned practically instantly.
Double Dash has permenant ice physics and horrible drifting. It's the 2nd worst console game after N64.
MkWii doesn't have snaking.
When I type, I type by moving my whole arm. No aches or pains. It's only when I'm playing video games and use multiple fingers that my wrist hurts.
MkWii has the best physics, some of the best tracks in the entire series, a thriving community despite being 10 years old and having official support dropped 5 years ago, and is just overall the best game really.
> Mario Kart
The best Mario Kart came out in 2008, so.
If Hacker News is anything to go buy, running "optimally" is a scam.
10 lines to replace maybe 20 characters. How horribly verbose.
This is such an exclusively American problem.
> The fact of the matter is that no other career path even comes close to the risk-adjusted lifetime financial remuneration of becoming a doctor.
This seems like a very sad way to view the world.
The contract sucks shit that's why
Hahahahahaha.
Openreach is utter shit outside of very very lucky areas. I live in London (zone 6) and we get 30/8 (after fighting with BT support for two months to fix it from 22/1). If you're not covered by VM and win the postcode lottery as to not have it drop constantly, you're lucky to get "tolerable" speeds.
I would vastly prefer the "US innovation" ideology to stay the fuck over there, and we keep our privacy rights.
> You're likely being downvoted
I do not care about downvotes on here.
> You can use virtually any character as part of your variable name. Lispers
This is not a good thing.
> However, it is nice that for a domain specific problem, you can just invent new syntax and use it.
This is equally not a good thing.
