im glad aquafaba is getting attention outside of vegan cooking
It should be 'position: fixed;'
Love it!

Site could use some help though. Consider making a repo for the actual website please! Would love to help clean it up a bit.

Super cool!

Feature idea: having a way of auto-incrementing them would be nice (instead of having to switch icon to a number).

a lil bit of website feedback: on route change, please scroll the page to the top.

if i scroll to the end of the home page, then go to "how it works", i'd expect not to be at the end of that page.

love it, though!

NSFW, btw
Re:No evidence that testosterone reduces cognitive empathy on Wednesday October 02, 2019 @05:41PM (#21141055)
I don't think this is true.

Intramuscular testosterone is the most common method of HRT for trans men / trans masc folks.

The effects of which are not "androgen".

In other words, some people don't know how to read graphs.
Re:Vegan+Cooking+eBook on Monday September 30, 2019 @08:45PM (#21120995)
I, vegan for 13+ years, was excited until I checked out the link.

This looks like spam tbh.

Nothing is "objectively unethical". That doesn't mean conversations about ethics can't and don't take place.
I'd say unethical for everyone.

This isn't even just an "animal rights" debate. It's also a debate about the impact that eating meat has on the environment.

There's way too many "eat less meat" articles to list, but here's one: https://time.com/5648082/un-climate-report-less-meat/

Sure, it's a bit of a jump from "eat less meat" to "eat no meat", but the trend is there.

How about "eat no meat regardless of nutritional value (unless absolutely necessary) because it's unethical to do so"?

It's no more presumptuous to assume OP is a straight male.
Re:Show HN: Browser Extension to Refine the HN Experience on Thursday June 13, 2019 @04:20PM (#20178234)
I'm liking the auto refresh feature, but it'd be nice to have a setting to refresh to the main page, not the page I left off at.

Thanks for posting this - from a fellow HH member who saw this yesterday!
The hover state reminds me of the lyric annotation system Genius (https://genius.com/) has, which is a good thing.
Yep, if I remember correctly, their current veggie patty is a morning star patty.

Depending on how often these items are asked for, though, and particularly in smaller cities, it's not uncommon for them to be deep frozen and pretty freezer-burnt by the time they reach you (same as Subway).

Would definitely like more 12 options.
Re:Cloudflare Registrar on Thursday March 21, 2019 @11:43AM (#19453659)
Thanks for the info. This makes it a hard pass for me until I can use other nameservers.
The default blue link color is also accessible by default, w/ a contrast to white of 9.3: https://color.review/check/0000EE-FFFFFF
Re:Artificial meat: UK scientists growing 'bacon' in labs on Wednesday March 20, 2019 @01:18PM (#19444390)
As a vegan, this is neat. There are tons of "vegan bacon" substitutes on the market, and most of them are pretty bad.

It being as unhealthy as "real" bacon is concerning a bit - but, I'll be fine.

Re:Americans Cross Border into Mexico to Buy Insulin on Thursday February 14, 2019 @04:38PM (#19166298)
I didn't know this was news. My mother, a US resident who's lived in the US for ~30 years, in a border town, goes across every time she needs any sort of medical care.

The Red Cross only takes cash, but it's so much cheaper (actually affordable).

Suggesting that "every product, restaurant, and company [having] the exact same label set in the same type with the same colours" is a "Marxist dream" is totally not how that works, though.
Re:Howler.js – JavaScript audio library for the modern web on Thursday November 01, 2018 @01:32PM (#18356351)
I've used Howler on a few sites to make media players for small-time artists' sites. It's pretty neat.
