Re:YAML: The Norway Problem (2022) on Sunday April 13, 2025 @05:57PM (#43676162)

We were using a fork of https://github.com/carmen-ruby/carmen/tree/master/iso_data/b... with our own translations. We used the data in the signup form.

Re:YAML: The Norway Problem (2022) on Saturday April 12, 2025 @09:37PM (#43669341)

We had this issue many years ago when people from Norway couldn't sign up. Took us a while to figure out

Re:Pets Can't Stop Watching 'Flow,' the Oscar-Winning Cat Movie on Tuesday March 11, 2025 @12:57AM (#43329265)

I watched The Lion King with my cat. He seemed to enjoy it. He watched all of it and even got up to help Simba at one point.

Unfortunately he's not with me anymore. Wish I could watch Flow with him. I'm sure he would like it.

I'm working on my web framework Mayu. Currently attempting to make something like Vite/Rollup for Ruby, basically a new module system where you can import all sorts of file types with plugins, and hot module replacement.

Re:HTML_slice: Enable Ruby classes the ability to generate reusable pi... on Thursday January 02, 2025 @09:15PM (#42581509)

I did a similar thing using another approach (unpublished) where I use blocking fibers and fiber locals [1] instead of instance variables so you don't have to wrap anything in a `html_slice`-block or keep track of ids. Maybe I should open a PR.

I did this as an experiment for my own web framework [2] but I decided to use Haml for templating instead.
