What makes it not interoperable?
Re:MicroZig to Adopt Strict No LLM / No AI Policy on Thursday October 29, 2026 @12:01AM (#50284406)
I kinda wish I could identify it like you guys. Then again, I might be more depressed if I could.
Re:MicroZig to Adopt Strict No LLM / No AI Policy on Wednesday October 28, 2026 @11:42PM (#50284319)
Interesting choice. I'll be interested in how it turns out. There's essentially 0 chance any contributors are better than current models, but sacrifices have to be made to stay pure, I suppose.
Re:Why I Am a Programmer on Sunday October 25, 2026 @07:06PM (#50236936)
Technically he didn't claim to be _employed_ as a programmer. I'll always be a programmer. But of course my job will be gone soon. Not sure what I'll do after that.. I'm too old for a new career.
Re:JetBrains Thinkrail on Sunday October 25, 2026 @06:28PM (#50236672)
Not sure why it matters? I can't tell the difference, personally, but even if I could the AI is much more likely to have given complete and accurate information than any human..
I have no idea how people are apparently spotting AI generated text. At this point, I don't even think I want to know. Really, I guess it's no different to me than text written by another person.
If you can afford it, always make them take it to jury trial.
Re:Android apps running native on macOS on Monday October 19, 2026 @10:19PM (#50160584)
What year is it? 2025? nobody reads code anymore -- that would result in a _decrease_ in quality.
Re:Android apps running native on macOS on Monday October 19, 2026 @10:14PM (#50160544)
4 seconds looking at the Readme shows that it does indeed run the java code on a JVM
Re:Android apps running native on macOS on Monday October 19, 2026 @10:13PM (#50160531)
I always do my best to emulate AI writing - just to keep you guessing.
The entire Excel implementation is under 50 MiB. The Word one is under 90MiB. Insane. I'm sure the features are incomplete, but both can open the normal Word and Excel files I have laying around. I'm extremely impressed.
Trained on the source code?
Re:I'm in a Meeting on Friday October 09, 2026 @11:35PM (#50029300)
Well, not that plausible lol. I've never heard a more AI voice in my life, and I spend hours on TikTok daily..
Re:How California Closed the Montana License Plate Loophole on Tuesday October 06, 2026 @11:32PM (#49987777)
Surely they can request anything they want? Assuming it's just a request and she can ignore it if she pleases.
Re:How California Closed the Montana License Plate Loophole on Tuesday October 06, 2026 @11:31PM (#49987770)
Well, by definition, if it's a loophole it isn't illegal. So.. he had no reason to believe it was
Re:Testing 12 different Zigbee temperature/humidity sensors on Tuesday October 06, 2026 @01:00AM (#49974383)
No mention of models that can survive outside. I'm not sure how useful an indoor sensor is??
I had the opposite issue with my power company for a while. The login page had a maxlength but the reset page didn't, so I had a password set that I couldn't enter... at least without modifying the page
Re:LinkedIn Larpmaxxing on Thursday October 01, 2026 @12:36AM (#49917782)
Surely LinkedIn is just doing a "front page algorithm" and these are the posts he interacts with most? I've literally never seen a single one haha
Re:America.gov – Whatever you need from government, start here on Wednesday September 30, 2026 @12:11AM (#49904267)
Ah, I wondered. It stubbornly refused to admit what it really was, kept saying it was built by some never-heard-of group at the White House lol
Damn you beat me to it, I was going to say exactly that. What a nightmare!
Re:Neo Emacs – Emacs from the Future on Monday September 14, 2026 @08:38PM (#49706212)
Sure, but you can check yourself if you're worried about it.
Re:iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27 on Monday September 14, 2026 @06:55PM (#49705389)
Yep, there's a whole set of censored phrases. Kill won't let you type a lot of things after it, including "him" and "her" (well, I haven't tested on iOS 27 yet). I haven't tried the white woman one though, that is cracking me up.

update: Okay I tried and sure enough, I'm laughing even harder now. The closest I could get it to swipe was "womanhood". Lots of Wohan's though.

Re:iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27 on Monday September 14, 2026 @06:47PM (#49705300)
Sometimes I swipe the same word 5 times in a row and it gets it wrong every time, despite me being slower and more precise each time. I give up and type it by hand. Note: this is NOT the censorship issue, that's separate (where it will not allow you to swipe certain words or phrases AT ALL, no matter how hard you try. Like if you type "kill" it won't let you swipe "him" or "her" after it, though some other words work. There are many instances of this)
Re:iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27 on Monday September 14, 2026 @06:44PM (#49705270)
OMG you're giving me PTSD just reading about it. It happens every single time!!!
Re:Neo Emacs – Emacs from the Future on Monday September 14, 2026 @04:11PM (#49703241)
I no longer see an issue with that, assuming it can be tested to prove it works. In this case, it's being tested (or well, claims to be) against real Emacs, which should be all that's needed.
Re:Kobo can run apps now on Friday August 21, 2026 @06:21PM (#49394428)
I wish there was more interest in bringing new things like this to the ReMarkable 2. There are some projects, but they are not great, and mostly I just want to get a good book-reading experience. Maybe I should try it myself, or well, have Claude try.
Very nice! I'll play with it for a few days and see how I like it. However: 3. Korren isn't in the Brewfile — build it from the korren repo: ./packaging/macos/build-app.sh --install

What korren repo? it doesn't even exist under your github user anymore...

Re:Show HN: Huzzah – a novel approach to coding with AI on Thursday August 20, 2026 @04:34PM (#49379897)
I'm confused, it looks like you've just written a new terse language that now costs money to compile?
Why are you still on 15?
That's good to hear. I never even tried to make anything for macOS because I opened Xcode and.. well, you know.
