I have sat trying to think of a response that appropriately expresses my disappointment and total lack of surprise at seeing such sentiments about a piece of writing that I thought was beautiful.
Fuck it though. Too long, boring, onanistic, get AI to summarize it. More efficient.
> I'm also wondering if/how the "add up to four homepods" feature compares to "getting a soundbar".
In my experience, a soundbar or similar is better if you intend to use anything other than the Apple TV. With the HomePod if you want to use e.g. a PlayStation then you're out of luck.
I think the fandom wiki for Dota is effectively dead, with everything being migrated to Liquipedia. Doesn't stop the fandom one from ranking highly though.
I think your response demonstrates rather than refutes their point.
Your first example shouldn't have a comma at all.
Crazy, considering rhabdo isn't that rare.
Quite a tasteless metaphor, no?
If you don't care about the images then don't have images.
I appreciate when somebody speaks with conviction about their beliefs.
I learned this from the Frank Zappa song "Baby Snakes" which contains the lyrics:
They live in a ho-ho-hole
(Tiny hole)
That is usually empty
(Usually empty, tiny too)
They live by a code
(Dit dit dit dit)
That is usually SMPTE
Which stands for
Society of Motion Picture & Television Engineers
This page could act as effective counterpoint to the claim that the model is dangerously smart.
I am so sick of reading this horseshit AI writing. It's like eating vaseline.
In case it gets edited, the title of the HN submission is "Steve Wozniak cheered after telling students they have AI โ actual intelligence".
I laughed when I read this, imagining a weird act of self-congratulation in front of a silent audience.
> thumb of the mind
An apt choice of words given the subject's unique blessing
"The screeching of peeling tape is a familiar albeit annoying sound."
I don't find it annoying, I quite like it. The only time I've experienced "ASMR" was from somebody peeling tape next to me.
At that point why not just have an actual deterministic transpiler?
Everything that has been "invented" was invented by humans and on some level depends on the laws of nature to function.
I recently bought whey protein powder that doesn't come from milk. It was synthesized by human-engineered microbes. Did this invention "arrive"?
Yes and exactly the same thing could be said for the invention of compact discs. You're just describing "history".
No I'm fairly certain it was invented and that this style of breathless science fiction roleplay will be looked back on as an embarrassing relic of the era.
I'd personally be very sceptical that the human brain could derive much meaning from smell beyond "smells bad don't eat" or "reminds me of something", but I guess I would have said the same about creating smells via ultrasound so what do I know.
Very cool, although I found the link to LLMs toward the end to be a little odd.
I suggest you reflect on the value you are placing on aesthetics, and where this way of thinking ultimately leads.
Sounds like reactionary nonsense to me. It's just some names. It's not indicative of the debasement of society.
Can you give an example of an artwork you think is acceptable?
> In a sharp peak, micro optimizations would give you a clearer signal where the optimum lies since the gradient is steeper.
I would refuse to even engage with the piece on this level, since it lends credibility to the idea that the creative process is even remotely related to or analogous to gradient descent.
> I wouldn't call it technical
Fair. Perhaps I should have said it gives the illusion of being technical.
Yes, you articulated my issue in a much better way than I managed to!
Respectfully, I have no idea what you're talking about. Dead Poets Society is a story and the message of the story isn't that Robin Williams' character is bad.
Are you saying my perspective is anti-socialist? What is "refined" art?
