Have you guys actually tried getting allocation for frontier models on something like Bedrock as a smaller company? :) What bailout? Everyone is desperate for compute. Sure, some funds probably overextended themselves financing data center buildouts for smaller players. So what? Big Tech is critically short on compute, and not by a small margin. Google Cloud grew 100%+ in a single year, and if you actually listen to Sundar, they have at least 2x the demand they can currently serve.

It's basically holding tenant and operator master registry that app nodes pull down resulting in very light load on rqlite. The architecture is resilient to control layer being down (just can't provision new tenants).

using it for control layer pretty happy so far

reality is if you created proper spec and had code reviewed by alt frontier model at high reasoning it's pretty rare to find bugs they missed.

It's actually is an interesting point. On personal level I've built a few products but I did spend a ton of time exploring things I was really curious about that will never amount to anything practical beyond satisfying my curiosity.
For me Grok finds legit bug that Fable and Astra miss so I always run it as part of code review

as Fable + 5.6 Sol so not really that reliant on Fable anymore.

I mean one thing frontier models are really good at is porting code with pretty low level of supervision. Provided there are enough fans porting packages from other ecosystems should not be a big challenge.

Article takes many claims at face value.
the core of the model is this:
don't use open source frameworks use inhouse one call it a "platform"
since you are using a platform now customer does not get to own their 90% bespoke solution they get the privilege of paying fees on it forever.
The rest is fluff to untie price charged from hours spent so people don't realize they are being fleeced.
Re:You Can't Copy Palantir
on Thursday August 13, 2026 @01:52PM (#49289582)
remove "other" and their operating margin is 46%
now since we are playing pretend game of framework is a platform what in reality is bespoke work for a given customer gets committed back to "platform" and now you amortizing that part instead of straight up deducting. Given you are growing at a meaningful clip this continually lets you paint a better picture than what the actual operating reality. They also love emphasizing non-GAAP margins so they can exclude RSU part of comp.

Palantir is basically a consulting shop with fancy marketing designed to shift perception so it doesn’t get valued at the low multiples that being a consulting business normally entails.
