Why surprised? Didn't US taxpayers pay for the collection of all this information? Now only those with "legitimate" interest can get access? I would very much like to know what the reasoning behind this move is. Although I suspect that as per usual, a reason will not be forthcoming. But who knows, perhaps the Epstein files are now being kept there, LOL?

Reading. I find that reading a lot, especially one's own writing, helps :-)
Also, I would suggest that every student take a few years of Latin, Greek and at least one foreign language from middle school on. That foreign language should be one that stems from a different root than one's own.

Based on my experience providing IT support to family members Windows would be the death of me. At work I get paid to fix stupid shit and I am fortunate enough to mostly only deal with servers. But even there, we would be switching to Linux everywhere if it was up to me.

By definition such a list is impossible

Slight correct to meteorologist's comment. Instead of “This amount of rain in a 24-hour period is incredibly rare for South Florida,” it should have stated “This amount of rain in a 24-hour period *WAS* incredibly rare for South Florida,”
