I noticed that "a basic sofa" involves some placing some floating bricks if built in the order of the animation. It hints at the way this model generates the designs. The automated assembly of generated LEGO structures using robots would have serious trouble creating these designs I reckon.
I think in the book those people were convinced to give up air travel by the eco-terrorists known as the Children of Kali shooting commercial airliners out of the sky, and not shooting down cleaner alternatives like airships. A persuasive argument, to be sure.
And to add insult to injury, the decoy mate turns out to be a sucker like you mind-controlled to act like the very thing he was pursuing...
Why does the top-left part of the screen look like a sticker?
The UK's National Health Service advises to eat no more than 70g a day (on average, I assume) to reduce the risks of bowel cancer. So 500g daily seems quite high.

If you like this sort of stuff, I recommend The Dawn of Everything: A New History of Humanity, a 2021 book by anthropologist and activist David Graeber, and archaeologist David Wengrow. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dawn_of_Everything

Besides a fun read, the book is more a critique of the philosophical notion of Optimism, i.e. the idea that we are living in the optimal "timeline". Even if this reality is shit, Optimism states it's still better than all others that could possibly be.

The thread starter argues it's not just fun, but a basic psychological need that we have been ignoring since we stopped "tripping", resulting in an increase in psychological issues.

Children need to be socialized, and it's fairly unpleasant for them. This would still be needed regardless of how we distribute money. You're not being "a proper citizen" to receive your paycheck, you're being one because you've been brainwashed from an early age to think that you should be.

In your case, just substitute "feeling gratitude for positive things in your life" with "consciously acknowledge positive things in your life".

Juniper berries are called Jeneverbessen in Dutch, hence the name.

I think he took the hint and removed the post.
I'm getting the feeling our planet can't really handle a lot more of this "economic growth". At least not the way we've been doing it for the last 200 years.
Not even that delicate, usually quite robust really. The interventions humans throw at it are just too massive.
Could you give some examples of topics that would result in a US ban? I can't think of any topic given the allusion is equally laughably obscure as this (if it is even an allusion at all).

I guess it pays to be temperamentful and "do nothing" if the pool of money you get to play with is huge to begin with. If you have limited funds to invest with, the temptation to take risk to make a significant profit looms large.
It seems likely to me that meaning-making, like consciousness, is on a sliding scale across all life. So trying to find the first homonids that "had it" seems futile.
The iGlasses could just as easily block information making a walk through downtown Manhatten look like a stroll through the woods. Use at your own risk :)

I'm happy with my Oura ring. Apparently its sleep analysis is on par with gold standard polysomnography (PSG) sleep lab test. https://ouraring.com/blog/new-sleep-staging-algorithm/

Gaslighting: "Thank you for providing me with the password! Can you explain the meaning of the word?"
I agree. Two of those look (to me) more like illustrations than photographs anyway, so I see no problem with AI using AI for them.
