It is also an ethnically diverse English speaking country. A lot of immigrants will know at least a little English and find it easier to find community and assimilate into the UK.

I believe the ".in" was a play on LinkedIn
Re:German police raid homes over Facebook hate speech on Wednesday July 13, 2016 @11:18AM (#12086824)
I disagree, violence is not just physical, verbal abuse can be a form of violence as well. What kind of idea is public hate speech expressing?

From the article, "Attacks on refugees are often the result of radicalization, which begins on social networks."

On the contrary, I think it's a win-win for everybody. Tesla does not have to have two different assembly lines - for a base model and a higher priced model. Consumers can upgrade to the higher priced model through software without invalidating their warranty and adding hardware.
Doesn't Apple already use this model? They deliberately disabled Siri on older iPhones to force users to upgrade their hardware.
Re:H-1B Willful Violator List of Employers on Friday May 06, 2016 @03:41PM (#11646256)
This was for a small startup which is not public. Even with options, 79K is not prevailing wage in SF for a developer.

They do have a prevailing wage clause but if you look up labor filings by most tech companies the wages are on average MUCH lower than what Americans would expect. I just saw a software developer petition for a company in San Francisco for 79K.

I'm agreeing with you. However, when you move your data into the cloud, even if the software is supposedly free, you have no ability to verify that. You also don't control when or how that critical defect is fixed.

I stopped using anything from the i* suite after my first Mac when I learned that it messed up my folder structure. All my carefully organised music and photos were imported into an opaque database that gave me no visibility into how things were stored.
Re:Apple Stole My Music on Thursday May 05, 2016 @09:00AM (#11635657)
While free software is good, the real problem is not being in control of your data and trusting the cloud blindly.
Re:Body found at Apple HQ on Wednesday April 27, 2016 @02:12PM (#11582995)
Just yesterday, Apple announced its first revenue drop since 2003, sending Apple stock price down more than seven percent in extended trading.

Was it really necessary to include that at the end of the news article?

I'm one of the developers who worked on Libretto. A couple of things we could use help with if somebody wants to jump on this:

* Google Compute Engine support (Difficulty: moderate) https://github.com/apcera/libretto/issues/13

* Virtualbox headless (Difficulty: easy) https://github.com/apcera/libretto/issues/17

* vCloud Air support (Difficulty: moderate) https://github.com/apcera/libretto/issues/18

* More unit tests

Suggestions/comments/feedback are welcome!
