Re:PocketBeagle – A $25 open-source USB-key-fob computer on Thursday September 21, 2017 @12:51PM (#15305301)
I don't think the battery life was there, but people used to be really into turning Motorola Lapdocks, originally intended for their Atrix phones, into Raspberry Pi machines.

A Chromebook might be able to do what you require for 9-10 hours, with a little tweaking.

Re:How to Interview Engineers on Tuesday June 27, 2017 @12:38PM (#14646922)
In your scenario, the question makes sense.

Personally, the question reads like "have you ever pieced-together a computer?" and one could argue that the question could weed out better candidates for certain positions. A growing number of younger engineers have only used machines that come glued-together, and never had to compare performance vs. price as they chose a CPU.`

Re:Amazon imposes limit on reviews on Monday November 28, 2016 @11:45AM (#13056557)
This is rather helpful. When I was looking for a cheap carry-on duffel with particular dimensions a few months ago, most items had ~10 incentivized reviews, and nothing genuine. You almost start looking for 4-star products, just because the reviews may actually be legitimate.
