Being broken gives you an unreliable reputation and people will make fun of your lack of system operations skillz.

Being sued by the RIAA makes you look like a hero of freedom and people will say good things about you and how bad it would be if you lose.

Re:Noobindex.com Launches on Thursday June 26, 2008 @05:18PM (#229117)
I'd rather the site was called something obvious, like "gamerdex.com". Noob isn't only a gaming term. Seeing it doesn't instantly make me think gaming.

A tag line at the very top of the first page would help too. For example, "Gamers organzing and communicating," like someone suggested above, right at the top.

I've found this to be true in a bad way. One female co-worker writes comments like this:

//Get the HttpSession from request.

HttpSession session = request.getSession();

To anyone who knows Java, that comment is just a waste of space that gets in the way.

Too bad, I've been hoping someone would come along and drive Confluence out of where I work. It is an "enterprise wiki", which is to say it adds tons of features that get in the way of work, but that management likes. It takes days of emails just to get all the permissions changed to allow someone to see a page you wrote.
Stand up desk. My mind seems to act in a much more goal oriented manner when I'm standing than when I'm sitting and relaxing.
