Re:Google Drive Realtime API on Wednesday March 20, 2013 @07:01AM (#5406527)
Is there a way let users collaborate without authorizing the app?

Developers authorize and create API with Google but it will be nice to allow users to collaborate anonymously like Sharing a Google Doc to the public.

Q. Is there life on Mars?

A. There is now!

“If you write a book that annoys or inconveniences me, even deliberately, I have no civil or criminal recourse. But if you send an e-mail message, or post a tweet, you could face three years in jail,” says Mr. Prakash. “That’s higher than the two-year imprisonment for causing death by negligence.”
It looks like they are issuing 50,000 visas this year. Any stats on how many people apply for this?

I tried 15% of 51 and also queries like what is the population of Tokyo similar to the demo. It does not seem to want to speak the results back.
Re:Google’s most advanced voice search has arrived on iOS on Tuesday October 30, 2012 @02:20PM (#4718672)
It does not read the results back to me. Is there something wrong with my settings?
Re:Apple scrambled to hire iOS 6 maps engineers days before launch on Saturday September 22, 2012 @06:31AM (#4557557)
This reminds me of how they "scrambled" to hire antenna engineers and similar job posts with iPhone 4 launch!

Re:Now that's a nice way to get more Facebook likes on Tuesday September 11, 2012 @06:15AM (#4504624)
Once you like the page and revisit the page, it does not detect that you've already liked the page.

This is a Facebook limitation.

What if you sent a read notice? That would let the sender know that you have seen the email.
Re:Show HN: Hide Messages in Images with Steganography on Thursday August 16, 2012 @03:57AM (#4390349)
LSB steganography works on PNG (lossless compression). Saving it as a jpg file causes data to be lost.

Yes, he needs to have a Node/Socket.io server somewhere.
Re:Scaling node.js to 100k concurrent connections on Thursday August 09, 2012 @06:59AM (#4360466)
I could never get my socket.io instance to max out, is there a good way to load test socket.io and web sockets?
Re:Global Dominance: Olympic Winnings vs GDP on Saturday August 04, 2012 @05:44PM (#4339769)
These facts stand out about the Olympics:

- Phelps has won more Olympic medals in his career than India in all Olympics

- Jamaica won 2 medals at women's 100m a few minutes go. Bolt still has to go. Why Jamaica?

- The United States has heavily relied on its dominance in swimming, racking up 23 of its 37 medals in the pool.

- Kazakhstan has 5 medals, all gold! Four in weightlifting. Population is barely 16 million

Re:Phonegap 2.0 released on Friday July 20, 2012 @03:12PM (#4272430)
I would like some help with these:

- Is there support for inapp payments? Built in or plugin based?

- how does this compare with trigger.io and titanium?

- does this version not need xcode to create apps like trigger.io?

Re:GlaxoSmithKline Pays $3 Billion Fine on Wednesday July 04, 2012 @12:03PM (#4199857)
I am very curious to know how GSK actually pay $3 billion. Does the CEO and/or board members walk into their bank and request for a transfer? What are the typical security restrictions in place?
I panicked initially thinking this issue was not yet resolved by Google!

Well done Saket, thanks for waiting for the bug to get fixed before posting your article.

Interesting, try typing in "handsup" or "handsdown"
Dr. Temple Grandin, an adult with autism who became a successful engineer, academic and speaker, believes that her disorder is an asset. She once famously called NASA a sheltered workshop for people with autism and Asperger Syndrome. She believes that people with autistic spectrum disorders are the great innovators, and "if the world was left to you socialites, nothing would get done and we would still be in caves talking to each other."
Tech-minded guys think of all these issues. It is a brilliant marketing idea! I would scan the QR code.
I can't believe it took them 11+ years. It felt like a recent startup.
Re:Coding is priority number five on Friday April 13, 2012 @12:25PM (#3837489)
I used to be a developer. I now work as a team lead / client liaison. Coding is not in the top 5. My job is to anticipate what my team will need and make sure that there are no obstacles. I also help with DB design and platform choices. Strong knowledge and experience with what developers need help me a lot.

I was wondering if a person without a development background could take my role as team leader to manage 3/4 developers on a daily basis.

Woah! Matrix takes this one step forward where the agent takes your body! Interesting idea.
