Where do you find these types of towns? I can't really think of anything that matches that description near me so I'm curious.

Hopefully developers take notice then, maybe we can build new neighborhoods with the garage off to the side in an awkward position for the occasional boat haul. Then we can clear up the fronts of homes and replace it with something prettier.
Re:Was Modern Art a CIA Psy-Op? (2020) on Tuesday August 25, 2026 @12:01AM (#49428920)
I am starting to be under the impression that movements are steered by leaders but formed only when the underlying conditions are present. No single element can make the movement.

I am reluctant to believe stories like "The CIA created modern art", as it is just a single part, although a very influential part, of the movement.

I say this as somebody who is very cautious about believing anything and am quick to call things (probably incorrectly) propaganda or disseminated by paid actors.

Right idea, wrong sect I guess
Yeah imagine a purely efficient state that actively enforced all written laws. We would need to rescind a lot of them.

Well Kansas has the benefit of being utterly flat and also quite homogenous biome wise. Even though it has no people I' assuming without looking at it that the entire state has been chopped up into square mile sized squares.

Mildly related: In North Philadelphia there are a few blocks known as the Logan Triangle that were abandoned once it was discovered that the topsoil was not stable.

One I'm particularly angry about is the deallocation of resources into keeping rail transport in favor of using trucks on nearly free highways.

While I agree with your sentiment of the "old world", I'm not sure that I can entirely agree with your views here.

What I do notice and do agree on is the fact that our society has become too financialized, there are too many people working in the financial sector that spend their days studying and trading financial products that oftentimes stem from debt.

But I also can't imagine our society without debt, how will we give the chance for people to attempt to create enterprises and businesses without it? Where would you draw the middle ground here?
