Maybe the site removed social metrics from their end, that is how we assess popularity.
Hi. Feedly employee here. There is no alternative because you have to pay a ton of fees to get Twitter access via API. The cheapest solution is to offer you Basic API token access ($100/month paid to Twitter). We’re working on that for our Enterprise customers and couple others might too. The question is if it is viable for single users.

Hi, this is Petr from Feedly, we're doing really well and yes, our focus shifted towards Enterprise - Threat Intelligence and Market Intelligence use cases. Individual users can use our Pro+ plan to access Feedly AI to leverage the power of searching through RSS feeds to get the signals more easily and quickly.
Re:RSS is back as an underpinning to SlackOps on Monday July 18, 2022 @11:59PM (#32147386)
We let publishers decide whether to showcase their content via a full feed (ie. full text and multimedia content can be read through a reader app) or a partial feed (ie. only showing limited text, inviting readers to browse full-content directly on their website). The choice is entirely in their hands.

Some publishers offer full RSS feeds as one of the benefits of their subscriptions. It might be something to explore for your favorite must-read sources.

Leo is really great to let you focus on topics you care about without the overwhelm. You might also try Web Alerts https://blog.feedly.com/how-to-use-leo-web-alerts-to-track-e...

Android and Microsoft are reviving RSS slowly. There'll be a big RSS renaissance coming in the next few years.

Re:Ask HN: What RSS Reader do you use? on Sunday October 04, 2020 @01:40AM (#24676758)
Correct, Reddit RSS are not reliable, but most importantly, the rate limit always banned us in couple days every month. There are some tools available, but they will run into this issue eventually when they'll hit critical mass of users.
Re:Ask HN: What RSS Reader do you use? on Sunday October 04, 2020 @01:38AM (#24676749)
The problem with Reddit feeds is that without using their API (that costs us money) we were getting rate-limited by their servers, so even when we have moved polling to Pro users only, we were still being blocked, so the only way was to use their API to bring Reddit to everyone.

Re:It’s Time to Get Back to RSS on Wednesday May 20, 2020 @12:23AM (#23243276)
Good point, this is valid only if a merger or acquisition happens so we're not selling anything or using your data in any way to give/sell it to 3rd parties.
Re:It’s Time to Get Back to RSS on Wednesday May 20, 2020 @12:19AM (#23243258)
There are plenty of solutions for sure, some of the local/self-hosted, some of them open sources, some of them cheaper, etc. It is great that the variety is there and maybe they are not all listed in the article, but I guess that was not the point as David uses Feedly and wanted to showcase how he uses it.
Re:It’s Time to Get Back to RSS on Monday May 18, 2020 @02:25AM (#23219026)
This is Petr from Feedly, we have read this article this morning, Daniel hasn't even let us know about it, so this is definitely not an ad paid by us (we don't pay publishers to write about us)
Re:It’s Time to Get Back to RSS on Monday May 18, 2020 @02:24AM (#23219017)
This is Petr from Feedly, please let us know where in the Privacy Policy you read we're a data hoarder and selling information? We're doing the exact opposite and we can afford it with Feedly Pro, Pro+ and Business as they feed our business so we can stay profitable without the need to sell any customer data.
Re:Paid Cerberus 'lifetime' licenses are expiring on Monday December 23, 2019 @12:35AM (#21861700)
Also, you're totally right that the communication was not handled correctly. We have launched it "silently" via the blue upgrade button to see the demand and to fix potential bugs before launching it publicly. We're finally stronger on the marketing side now so you can expect a "real and proper" Leo launch in January and onward. Thank you for providing us with your insights, we can improve communication when we see how our users react.

He, please see the answer on top.
Re:Paid Cerberus 'lifetime' licenses are expiring on Monday December 23, 2019 @12:29AM (#21861684)
Hello, sorry for the confusion/frustration with the lifetime tier. Let me explain: We have added Leo (smart AI/ML-powered assistant that helps you save time and prioritize content). It costs $4/user/month to run this and it is not viable to offer it as part o the standard plan, so we have added Pro+ plan and for lifetime users we have offered a unique opportunity to join that plan eventhough it won't be viable for us.

If you decided to not get Pro+ via the lifetime offer, you'll keep all the features you had until now, we're not moving them to the higher plan, only for new users, not for you, never.

I hope it makes sense, let me know if not.

-Petr from Feedly
