Trained writers and journalists know that short sentences are an important tool. They convey directness.

Perhaps that speaks more to your education and that of "most poeple on hn"

I think you need to get out and see what life is like. This isn't a leadership problem at all, it is human nature. No one does sums anymore, we use calculators. We've outsourced computation. But now many workers outsource thinking and communication, which is hugely problematic. So yes, good companies should have AI usage guidance documents, in fact providing clear expectations might be labelled ... leadership.
Re:Everything You Do Is Being Recorded on Sunday August 09, 2026 @04:57PM (#49235792)
but you don't have separation of church and state... thats a poor comparison. religious dogma eats into nearly all public discourse.
HN crowd is not representative of the world at large. consumers don't care. cost and convenience are primary motivators.
yes thats the main reason, agda , coq similar ideas
agree. If oia and hf are anything like generic startup / corporate america, IT and security is always seen as a cost center and goes to the lowest bidder. Do we really think they're employing top notch sysadmins?

no it doesn't work at all -- because the LLM isn't sentient, emotional, nor does it care for the user

No. Even for large models that a good mental model. This is parroted all over and is wrong. Its not going to generate out of distribution answers. Its a probabilistic function of the training set.
Its for reasoning not generating art?

Re:The Dead Economy Theory on Friday May 29, 2026 @07:06PM (#48330520)
no? this isn't what it argues at all. did you read it?
Re:The Dead Economy Theory on Friday May 29, 2026 @07:05PM (#48330509)
It's not widely known and mostly spun in MSM as fringe theory (thanks to marketing by big AI cos). this is a well written essay, and if it helps the discourse all the better.
Re:Where Are the Economies of Scale in Homebuilding? on Friday May 29, 2026 @06:34PM (#48330225)
Its also cheap, and fire retardant compared to other finishing. It used to be lathe+plaster. And before that plain wood.
Re:Where Are the Economies of Scale in Homebuilding? on Friday May 29, 2026 @06:32PM (#48330189)
China does it and it works well. We just need governments with executive planning capabilities. In my country (Canada) we only have myopic politicians who only care for re-election.

Re:The bottleneck was never the code on Wednesday May 06, 2026 @09:59PM (#48044513)
If you don't have stakeholders I contend you probably don't have a product, or you're building the bare minimum MVP which upon becoming a product will be woefully inadequate, generating the aforementioned bottleneck.

That's only true if you're making something that's already been done.
