Re:The Most Common Surgery on Saturday October 04, 2025 @11:17AM (#45473923)
I meant recorded as in procedure, but yes earlier depictions were present. I looked at the picture and the interpretation of the tool that is depicted is still kind of vague.

Re:A.I. Is About to Solve Loneliness. That's a Problem on Saturday August 02, 2025 @11:15AM (#44768307)
Confidently incorrect. Body builds what it thinks it needs. Lifting weights? It will think you need muscles. Living sedentarily? It will think you are conserving evergy and you need fat reserves. Running daily? It will think all the needs are met and you need cognitive strength.
Does anyone know if UPI solves this problem?
Privacy and closed source don't go hand in hand together unless you have a different opinion.

We have something similar in India.

[below text is from google search results]

To facilitate the penetration and usage of RuPay Credit Cards on UPI, there will be no charge for transactions up to ₹2,000, an NPCI circular said. For transactions upwards of ₹2000, the applicable MDR amount will be borne by merchants and no additional charges will be levied upon the customers.

Disadvantages of Rupay Cards Limited International Acceptance: One of the main disadvantages of RuPay cards is their limited acceptance outside of India. ... Restricted Usage: RuPay cards are primarily designed for domestic use within India.

If we are going to talk about evolution then why not ask ourselves why women keep ovulating till the age of 55?
Re:Maryland woman loses $17K in SIM card swap scam despite 2FA on Thursday January 25, 2024 @12:55PM (#39132364)
Can anyone explain why SIM swapping works? Do telecom companies in US allow you to buy a new SIM without a government issued ID?

> TOTP

Cannot count the number of times I have fomatted my phone and had to beg support teams for access to my accounts. I like to use custom ROMs and I cannot afford another phone just for TOTPs. I hate TOTPs. so much.

Re:Wikipedia daily most viewed pages on Saturday December 30, 2023 @03:16AM (#38813626)
I do it. I don't know how to explain why but these pages sometimes contain more information than people think. Like the critics, key-people, government involvement, controversies, etc. And the best part is that I can trust this information to be neutral and factually correct.
Re:Problems on the Galaxy Store on Friday December 08, 2023 @10:02AM (#38569835)
Galaxy Store is a garbage adware. Always runs in background. And if you accidentally open it it will start downloading "recommended apps" without your permission.

"I don't care about my rights because they are worthless to me"
Here in India we have an app named "Where is my train?". Local people use this app a lot when traveling by train. It's not government owned either and has no ads. Just throwing in here for some inspiration since I don't know the inner workings of that app.

Edit: It uses nearby cell towers to estimate the location of train

I guess you can call Dausa, Rajasthan as rural compared to the rest of the first world.

Makes me wonder if we can create an unsupervised AI model to "infer" features of an organism through only its genetic code.
Sure government can seize your money but can they seize all kinds of assets?

No I am just wondering why is this largely ignored
Re:The dystopian underworld of South Africa’s illegal gold mines on Wednesday February 22, 2023 @03:13PM (#34901943)
I sometimes wonder what the future of human rights is considering a scenario from 10 generations from now.

The survived miners will probably have children. The children who are not fit (neither physically nor mentally) will die working in mines. The mentally fit children will migrate to US. The physically fit children will have more children that are physically fit. What will happen then? Why are we ignoring the future of our species and human rights on a larger scale of time?

So economy is now a justification of slavery?
True. I didn't consider the scale. I was talking in a totally hypothetical sense.
What if instead of immigration the government decides to raise the orphan children from other countries? That wouldn't harm the culture I hope.
