I'm a technical lead with extensive experience designing, building and delivering software products end-to-end.

I've worked across startups, agencies and established businesses, taking projects from initial ideas through architecture, development, infrastructure and production. I'm equally comfortable leading technical decisions, working independently or getting hands-on with an existing codebase.

My background is primarily web applications, SaaS platforms, APIs and cloud infrastructure. More recently, I've been exploring AI-assisted development, LLM integrations and agentic workflows.

I'm technology-agnostic and enjoy solving difficult problems more than advocating for a particular stack. I'm particularly useful when a business needs someone who can take ownership, work across the entire stack and get things shipped without unnecessary complexity.

*Looking for:* Remote contract, consulting or fractional tech lead/CTO opportunities, ideally working through my UK limited company. Also open to the right permanent senior engineering or technical leadership position.

If you're building something interesting or need an experienced engineer to help move a project forward, I'd be happy to chat.

Re:Ask HN: What's your opinion on weekly 1:1s? on Friday June 09, 2023 @04:33AM (#36254973)
I've never had weekly 1:1s and rarely have monthly ones, but when I'm in a positioning when I'm managing people I always, always put in place a optional weekly 1:1 meeting which I used to just listen...

I always encourage colleagues to speak about anything they want, rant, complain ask for a raise, anything. It's their time and I'm all ears, but the most important thing is that I am always there for that time each week no matter what.

Without consistency it doesn't work.

I'm also in the process of switching back from Macos to Windows thanks to WSL.
