What can i do in Jai i cant in, say Zig? I have never use Jai so im curious. I really how Haxe does metaprogramming, its incredibly powerfull. But not sure how Jai compares.
In Haxe i can pretty much do anything, run code, generate code, i even built an openapi doc on compile time just from types.
Nah. There is legacy, then there is the (now dying) wordpress/drupal/<php-cms> shops that still run PHP. Custom apps are not done in PHP, unless its a (usually) unskilled dev who knows no better.
With AI, there is little need for PHP in 2026, even for the novice dev. The onl thing PHP had in the early 2000s was the FTP deployment story, but that has long faded. I van deploy a go binary WAY easier than a PHP application.
I dont see much Hack out in the wild. Its basically only Meta that uses it for facebook. Also kind of funny that PHP was so BAD that they actually had the write their own language.
PHP is ONLY popular because of mainly wordpress. Usage outside the big CMS are minimal at best, in 2026. I dont see much greenfield / PHP jobs that are not legacy software these days.
LOL
PHP will always be the slop before AI.
This is pure gold. A critical vuln like this is such classic lolphp. Luckily you can port away from PHP pretty easily with AI.
Probably not. PHP is so badly built these kinds of things happen frequently.
Im going to give this a go. Im using berkeley mono, so this is up my alley. What colorscheme are you using in the examples? I tend to find that font + colorscheme goes hand in hand.
This is probably going to be banned in EU, like the cyber truck. But, yeah.. kund of meh looking design and obviously i will have nothing to do with anything elon related.
Obviously. But a sane languge could/would just require better design and performance tuning. Not reinvent a new languge kind of change. At scale you need to design carefully no matter if its Java, C or Rust. But you mostly can keep the languge and not write you own.
Was a user, its a really nice font. Then i found Berkeley Mono, that has been the daily deiver for the past 5-6 years.
Not sure about gala, but lisette produces good and readable go-code. There is a prelude (option, reault etc) package you possible would want to get rid of if you ejected. But an LLM could easily do this manual task for you pretty easily.
Sure, PHP was obviously a very poor choice as an main language. Facebook still today suffers (i know people at facebook), and even pured in millions for HHVM and Hacklang.
If they had opted for C# they could probably have been able to run it as-is today.
I wish i had mac hardware with a fully supported Linux OS. There are some options but most have bad hardware. I kind of wish Apple would just "unlock" its hardware for other options like Linux.
And facebook was written in frikkin PHP. That means it was not C# that made it slow, probably just bad programming.
Yeah, i think lisette just needs some time (its pre 1.0, so probably not used in prod), but that said i read Listte is actually already used for building compilers for other languages.
Some people like to live on the bleeding edge, and once again, that said, the Go runtime is just so good so you have a solid base, and can always eject from lisette by just keeping the generated Go source. That makes it a more safe language to choose.
Never used gala, but it seems going a bit more down the deep end, frankly it has features is dislike / would never use.
Lisette has been pretty straight forward, with its good Go interrop and familiarity (i have ocaml experience). Tooling is GREAT for such a young language. Im also a huge fan of the recent addition of a "zero" value. No nils like you get in vanilla Go.
I tend to write libraries in Lisette i then import in my go "shell", thats more or less a main function with some setup.
Full (lisette->go->lisette) Go interrop is still a WIP, but im certain it will be improved upon soon.
Editor use is on the decline. Heavy bulky IDEs like jetbrains has are close to extinct. After AI our company cancelled the jetbrains ide subscription, as no dev needed it. Most just use vscode or vim, and most stay in the terminal.
For that there is Lisette. Close to gleam, compiles to Go.
You just described Lisette. Its very close to gleam, and compiles to Go.
With AI you dont need React and pals. The best "stack" is just web components, with (if really required) some state manager (zustand, mobx etc) and optionally jsx if you want. Esbuild as a compiler. This is all browser native, very performant and will never get old (deprecated).
So "askjeeves" has been resurrected?
Go has a really good concurrency story. Its one of the best ones out there. Some langs have async/await (usually sucks) and some nothing att all (like php)
A data race is by definition a class of an race condition. This is basic compsci literature, and there is no other way to put it, as even a non programmer can see the similarity.
Not sure why you would be that nitpicky for something so trivial?
Thats not how it works. You usually have a few places you can vote in, and there is a list of names that are checked, then you vote.
Its not like immigrant X from country Y can vote willy nilly.
This is not rocked science. Every citizen is automatically allowed to vote, and IF you cant vote where you are supposed to you can handle this case specially.
Next have it solve the zodiac (the serial killer) unsolved cyphers.
Whats the use case? Is this a phone or a size-reduced ipad? This looks hard to keep in you pocket, and even worse to operate with one hand.
Im having a hard time to understand what and who this is for.
