I hope you drink fair trade coffee.
(I know that stealing from white man is bad, third worlder in a far away land is not bad but I'm too autistic for the hypocrisy our society lives by)
There are a LOT more festivals in my country then there were in the 90s. And its a lot easier to gain some fame and book a concert venue.
The days of snorting cocaine in studios for months and making concept albums are over. Its back to traveling around and entertaining people. Worked for thousands of years.
Thats far too easy. In a democracy YOU are the state.
I wonder what would happen if we could live cast our military deployments so that every voter has access to every war crime committed? Maybe then people wouldn't be so quick to sign up for another war. Or they would at least be honest about it.
The US military studied Vietnam a lot:
No more draft, career soldiers only
Control the media
One year tour of duty (they broke this one in Iraq because they were running low)
"same deference they treat the road system"
Well that's not saying much. The US highways aren't in optimal condition.
My country is literally one bad storm away from turning into Atlantis. Puerto Rico is not a disaster, hurricanes are a part of the weather over there and every American should be ashamed of what happened. Sing God bless America because it sure as hell isn't going to be saved by its people.
We are running into a problem here: how do you kill a parasite without killing the host? The US is not an export economy, it produces very little tangible goods. Its a very insular economy that because of its superpower history has deeply spread its cancer cells across the global economy. How do you fight it?
Lol you technologists are payed by advertising money. Inconvenient truth.
How about the Second Amendment ;)
Yeah I always laugh when people talk about "the West". Globalization is far, so far away. Truth be told there was more unity in the world when dynastic royal families ruled the world- not democratic nation states.
To be hypocritical is to be human: if the EU can make life miserable for some American based businesses Trump style I won't lose sleep over it.
I do. Banks should only disallow illegal transactions.
Not that I am surprised: PayPal is American.
True, Netflix first got popular in my country by people using VPN to access it. Now that they operate locally and are a part of the establishment they've been diligent in squashing VPNs.
It costs a cool million to throw a kid in jail so the numbers add up.
But dont worry when the economy goes South again the prison industry will be back with their promise to provide jobs.
Ad blocking just makes the internet better in every way.
Even an asshole like me will remove ublock origin if websites start to self-host ads. But they won't.
Pay more for something because its cool? Is that how Americans run their business? I'm sitting at a cheap IKEA desk here.
For smaller markets it may just not be worth it for them. Next day delivery? Everyone does that. Return policy? Everyone does that.
So whats left for Amazon besides the big brand name? Slash prices.
Yep, the EU saved a small country like Greece because the alternative was too horrible to bear.
Amazon was extremely late in Europe. Most European countries didn't have established players but mine did so they were never able to growth hack. Next day delivery isn't hard when the country is one big urban area that you can drive from one end to the other in 3 hours, at night at least.
Honestly I expect more competition from ali express than Amazon at this point.
So do physical stores. Is it really so different from Heineken paying for prominent shelf space in the supermarket?
So long as the rest of the world keeps buying US debt they will keep trucking on. The US is too big to fail: nobody can afford that house of cards to implode.
I am well aware of that, my country spends billions every year on child protection and it barely makes a dent it seems. But this is India were public safety is lacking and kidnapping is not so rare. And instead of doing the hard thing we are here talking about WhatsApp.
These "unsophisticated" people in India love their kids as people do everywhere and don't want them to get kidnapped and gang raped. Which does seem to happen an awful lot and can be read about in old media newspapers every day.
Instead of blaming WhatsApp maybe the Indian government can start to make people feel safe.
I believe the purpose of newspapers is to give facts which allow me to make up my own mind. Which is certainly harder than just spouting the party line I guess. Take the Swedish Democrats: I agree with their stance on immigration but their economic policy and their social conservative beliefs I do not share.
True but that loophole was closed when phone books started to collect mobile phone numbers. Nobody was happy with that so it was changed so that people had to actively opt into being listed. Phone books are now dead and good riddance.
Disable WiFi scanning. One of those settings that is hidden and 95% of users have never heard off.
Actually you don't need to give location. Parking meters have a four digit code written on them that you can use instead. Location is just for convenience.
On an Android device you can block ads and trackers, even without root.
This is the business model of the industry. Every app is loaded with this stuff. Assume hostile behaviour.
Funny enough the much maligned evil Win10 allows for the use of a local account.
(I am hesitant to give American companies my personal information because they are not beholden to my country's consumer laws).
