The only thing they are is truly, truly wonderful.

Please don't spread more FUD.

It's only hepatoxic at high doses. Taking 1 or 2 Tylenol a day is not going to cause any problems.

You are off by a factor of 12.

It's $9 per month not year.

No, in general mlx versions are always faster, ice tested most of them.
It's not you, they unfortunately slid into self indulgence.
Re:DeepSeek-R1 with Dynamic 1.58-bit Quantization on Tuesday January 28, 2025 @10:46PM (#42861290)
Unfortunately those are both 10-15x the cost of deepseek direct.

Deepinfra is pretty cheap though as a deepseek provider.

IIRC they went fully open source because they couldn't make it as a for profit company.
Re:A terminal-based Bluetooth manager for Linux on Saturday June 29, 2024 @01:33PM (#40832186)
I used to use Bluetooth to, but the TUI nature of Bluetooth makes it so much easier.
I've been using vim and neovim for over 15 years with many 10s of plugins and I can probably count on one or two hands when an update has caused problems.

Also use Arch for about as long.

It's so odd to me when someone says that updates break their vim or Arch frequently.

Re:Ask HN: How are you using GPT to be productive? on Saturday March 25, 2023 @12:47PM (#35304438)

If you have multiple awa accounts it's a godsend.
Cloudflare support is complete garbage.

We upgraded to Enterprise, and had some issues because CF's documentation was not clear (literally a blog post), and their support took many days to even respond and then their response made it clear they hadn't even read the ticket.

I'd move everything into AWS in a second if moving DNS wasn't such a pain.

Also am forced to use the global api token because constantly get rate limited using permission-scoped api tokens -- this is from a simple Terraform plan (first thing in the morning) and after them increasing my rate limit to the max.

As with most good guidelines, it's useful as a general guideline, just dont get strcit about it.

Just make sure to use distilled water. Brain parasites are no fun.
Drugs in pill form don't really expire, they just lose efficacy. And if stored well it takes a long time. I cant find it right now but someone found some pills that had been stored like 50 years in sealed containers and testing for the activr ingredient showed they were still like 80% or more good.
same. super fair.
Why does thinking dad jokes are lame get a comment that seems to imply some kind of mental illness?
Re:Building the Future of the Command Line on Friday September 16, 2022 @01:37PM (#32869460)
I'm guessing you simple don't live in the CLI, i.e. where you're constantly opening new e.g. tmux windows.

Shell startup time _absolutely_ matters.

E.g. slow startup interrupts flow for one thing.

Re:Ask HN: What do Russians on HN think about this war? on Monday March 07, 2022 @02:59PM (#30592607)
Thanks for posting this; I've had a lot of trouble trying to figure out how Putin is justifying what seems like obvious aggression against another sovereign nation.

The tl;dr I think is simply that - Putin does not consider ukraine a soveign nation -- he (and I guess many russians) consider it part of russia; e.g. a wayward child that needs to be brought back into the family.

Anyway, thanks. I don't agree, but I think it's extremely important to understand both sides, otherwise no conversation can ever happen.

Use Tridactyl?
