Even if your real nudes leak, now you can always say they are ai-generated :)

This is not about free speech, this is about company policy.

and that was an "external" witness, not even an employee of the company. Which company would tolerate that? Social media has somehow conditioned people to think they can air all of their opinions with no filter and when there are consequences, they act surprised.
Re:Can GPT-4 *Actually* Write Code? on Friday March 17, 2023 @02:27AM (#35193883)
I feel it's the average programmer who is enamoured with GPT. The programmers working on hard stuff know that AI writing programs is still far away.

Please come to china and evaluate their efficacy, you will never go back :)

>>> but after the vaccine was out Chinese citizens mostly all got it.

When the restrictions were lifted and the cases skyrocketed, it was because people hadn't taken Sinovac. Chinese don't trust chinese vaccines. Everyone was flocking to macau to take foreign vaccines

>>> but having a system where the entire party kept itself in check worked surprisingly well, and each generation knew the next generation, including their children, would inherit the party

The system you are talking about was Jiang's faction. Every few years one or the other faction becomes dominant. Now it's Xi's faction. Nothing has changed, it is business as usual.

Yes its the amercans doing all they can to fuck it up ... poor CCP with all their homegrown tech and businesses. Why won't they let them be?

Mainland chinese hire other mainland chinese. I dont see people complaining about them

>>> I have seen South Indian promote, hire etc other South Indians.

Are you saying somehow they are gaming the system and getting them in. If everything is above board, how is it a problem?

Re:Seattle becomes first U.S. city to ban caste discrimination on Wednesday February 22, 2023 @01:09PM (#34899996)
There was only one case brought by Equality Labs, the Cisco case, which was thrown out. Any perceived discrimination also will be made out to be caste discrimination as there is money to be made, benefits to be had.

Upper caste manager dings lower caste employee for performance --> caste discrimination

Upper caste employee talks back to lower caste manager ---> caste discrimination

This is how things will play out.

Re:Seattle becomes first U.S. city to ban caste discrimination on Wednesday February 22, 2023 @01:04PM (#34899911)
Yep, its all about opportunities and nothing else. All identity politics is based on getting benefits for one's own group.

>> Overall, this is a positive development. But we still have a long way to go!

The way is eternally long, once reservations are introduced, who would want to remove them.

In India, now it is a competition among castes to show that they are the most backward, since they would be considered for reservations then.

they sure can try and if they do .... consequences
Crypto is a solution looking for a problem to solve. It is like a parasite, which will latch onto any existing tech and enable scams on the same.

>>> With modern technology, one can get started on ultra cheap automated courses

You cannot compare a degree from a well known university with cheap/free online courses. The benefits of a degree from a well known university are immeasurable.

Re:Asian-Americans fight back against school discrimination on Wednesday March 02, 2022 @08:24AM (#30527042)
Exactly, if it becomes truly meritocratic, I feel that there are enough qualified Asian (chinese/indian/other countries) applicants that 100% of the batch would be asian.

The pay for a new grad (even non US citizens) entering Amazon is 120k+. This not low at all. It should not be mind boggling why someone would choose to interview at Amazon.
