Majority of gas water heaters I have seen in Southern California have been exterior in a shed, or in a garage, so not pulling good air from the living space. I can't speak to Northern California.

Yes, I take the term "politicized issues" to mean anything which voters vote on directly. The remainder of issues, non-politicized, are silently handled in the background by bureaucrats and experts, with the mandate of voter trust. In this case, it would be a bureaucrat decision to cut carbon emissions, and the population would comply.

Neither contemporary presidential candidate campaigned against the Salk vaccine. It was a non-politicized issue because the trust was greater.

For scientifically bogus reasons, there is a lack of trust in the experts behind the COVID vaccine, and therefore an opportunity for political exploitation. Hence vaccines have become a political issue.

Believe me, I would rather go back to a time of voter trust.

I think you are asking for the voters to give the government a blank check to solve the issue.

In my opinion, the only way to make this issue, or any other, exempt from voter feedback is having a very high trust in government. This trust probably peaked in the World War II era and was damaged by Vietnam.

Compare how the Salk polio vaccine was received by the public to the COVID vaccine, in spite of the fact there had been errors made with earlier polio vaccines. The trust was strong enough to surmount that.

I think you are correct and politicians know this. I.e. why did California not maneuver to save those SoCal refineries? Higher price reduces gas use and is below threshold of flipping the state Republican.

It is unlikely that a heat pump could heat water that quickly to be "tankless."

I take it that was an indoor gas water heater? Which used your indoor cold air? So it's analogous to a decorative fireplace losing good air up the chimney.

> defense budget to protect oil infra

If there were no oil, the defense budget would likely be the same.

The home version is cheaper, and inferior
Yes and I believe both Democrat and Republican administrations. Strange how voters tolerate this but not tariffs in general.
You can do a comparison to the UK, which, as I understand it, does not give out routine colonoscopies as the first line of defense, as in US. I believe there are some preventable colorectal cancer deaths there for this reason.
It is sad but the financial state of the country is poor and these improvements in social wellbeing are unlikely to happen anytime soon, in my opinion. I anticipate it will only get more competitive. The national debt issue is reaching a cresendo.

Technically impressive, but hostile to everyone else on the road, i.m.o., similarly to the Cybertruck. Shows the lack of egalitarianism in our public spaces.
And mini-split is definitely way more efficient thermodynamically.
Hence a company with a second revenue stream such as Google has an advantage, in my opinion
Has this factor really changed much in the past century?
To your point about replacement, it is evident to me Trump himself has orchestrated this thing over the past 11 years, as none of his associates have been part of the inner circle for that entire span of time.

Looks cool! Is there any relation to this area: "Type-constrained code generation with language models"? https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=43978357
I agree it is the point, but it is not the end of the story. These districts will continue to vote for Trump-like candidates until their situation improves, I predict.
Agreeing with your larger point but on the other hand, Trump-voting districts with older industries probably have trade deficits, both with other American districts and especially internationally.
They are not popular. See the canceled Poseidon facility in Huntington Beach.
The narrative of the Big Short omits something big i.m.o.: encouragement of easy mortgage lending standards by Washington politicians. Is this line about the SEC the only reference to government in the movie?
Given the litigious nature of medical patients these days, I think most doctors would justifiably avoid the additional responsibility of pharmaceutical QA.
In my opinion this is an unfair risk to the doctor's career in assuming responsibility for the quality of the compounded drug.

In the absence of any other evidence, I assume the 30-fold increase is the cost to the manufacturer of preparing the drug for eye injection "according to Hoyle."

The higher manufacturer price of the eyeball-safe formulation is clearly justified, then, i.m.o. Also, is it the doctor's responsibility to assume risk to save the patient money?
Re:US and Iran announce deal to end military operations on Sunday June 14, 2026 @07:33PM (#48534275)
What are the odds of the optimal deal being reached on Trump's birthday (Eastern Time)? Who knows, maybe US stalled before, and/or gave a little extra concession to conclude today.

Sure, it is logical that opening a previously restricted or infeasible product space is an easy way to produce business opportunities. Like the legalization of gambling in Nevada.
That cheapest option may not be the cheapest option in the long-term when the next Democratic president would re-activate the devices.

Same reasoning as removal of many post office boxes in last days of Trump 1 term.

This is consistent with the very old topic of television as babysitter
Chemistry question: is there any advantage to preempting the possible spontaneous explosion with a controlled explosion? This controlled explosion would happen when the MMA is in a less volatile state, perhaps.

Second question: would it be futile to lift a containment vessel over the tank? Would a containment vessel of sufficient strength be too heavy to lift? For starters I'm thinking of a shipping container...

What about airlifting a containment vessel on top of it? To lessen the impact of an explosion?
