That’s cool. Love the infinite canvas and multiuser aspect brought to data analytics!

Finally! I was impressed by the together.ai approach to trying the chat models without having to deploy your own and was curious why Hugging Face didn’t have that type of interface more consistently available. Now to see HuggingFace make as many models available as together.ai does, they still have a good lead in that regard.

I would like to give up the physical keyboard in the next ~5 years entirely.

I like touch, pencil/pen, voice/microphone for input and screens with speakers for output.

“Establish a very large NGO with offices in every country in the world”

This reminded me of what the non profit Stellar Development Foundation (SDF) is trying to do with Anchors around the world.

Interesting. The article reads to me like a corporate and political public relations campaign for the license by Forever Energy. Though, the license does seem to be getting transferred around internationally. I read that UniEnergy Technologies declared bankruptcy in October 2021.

I wish the USA had more transparent intellectual property laws and publicly available licensing for government funded research, something more similar to FOSS communities.

How might the world have been different if Google in retreating from Google+ had acquired Twitter?

I agree self examining requires middle ground.

I made an Apple Watch App and then Shortcut[2] to record by voice how I spend my time and write it to my calendar. The goal was to make it so easy (<10 seconds) to record when and how I spent my time that I would record even every time I went to the bathroom. I did it consistently for a few weeks and just couldn’t bring my self to continue, I was recording only ~40-50 activities per day and I still felt burden by such detailed self examination. What did I learn? That I was playing a lot of Xbox with my son and too much alone. That the free form text I was recording needed categorization and keyword analysis to even hope of being useful and that I really love spontaneity and aimless wandering, curiosity, and learning—but ultimately what a weight it is to do such detailed analysis of one’s own self. I do still some times have dreams of doing something similar with all of my Google data[1] at some point maybe bringing both ideas (recording how I spend every minute and full Google download) together for analysis and self awareness.

That is interesting. Thanks.

I’ve been looking at settlement also and am particularly interested in overnight Interest rates. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overnight_indexed_swap

This past years changes at the Fed for Central Bank Interest Rate Swap Lines and 9 new banks, which included Sweden and others. https://www.federalreserve.gov/newsevents/pressreleases/mone...

The dollar is running the world right now. Lots of demand even as, or maybe why, the value has been weakening. https://www.marketwatch.com/investing/index/dxy

Curious when the dollar running the world will begin to change. The US dollar and CN Yuan are the only countries keeping us with positive, basically zero, interest rates globally (See IMF SDR) https://www.imf.org/external/np/fin/data/sdr_ir.aspx

Lastly, Power to the Players! Still looking for more short squeeze on the GME shorts, would like to see them get pushed down to a reasonable level of the float (5-20%?). I’m holding.

Re:Ask HN: Recommendations for Peer to Peer Frameworks? on Sunday April 08, 2018 @09:57AM (#16786081)
I’m curious what your goal is. Do you want the complete immutability of transactions like bitcoin/blockchain; or do you want the peer/seed capability like BitTorrent and IPFS with a DHT (Kademlia)? I’d be interested in seeing a good list of the technology choices that can make up a P2P project if anyone knows of one, please share.

But you definitely should checkout IPFS and Kademlia.

Anyone else questioning this, “The integrated circuit was commercialized in the 1960s yet 25 years later computers still represented just 5% of the value of all business equipment”? ICs are everywhere around us (in our phones, cars, refrigerators, coffee makers, weight scales, HVAC, etc.) and are rightfully invisible to us. Let alone all the major business equipment. Or, am I missing something?
