Re:Canada bans most foreigners from buying homes on Monday January 02, 2023 @06:21PM (#34225148)
Seems to be the fastest and easiest thing to do. But it goes against our current paradigm of looking for perpetual growth, the government will never reverse this policy
Re:South Africa's national electricity crisis to worsen on Sunday November 20, 2022 @05:38PM (#33686248)
Ethiopia was having a rapid growth before covid.

I am not sure after covid and the war in Tigray how it's doing at the moment

Probably that it will be more unnoticed because of it
To make things worse, the population will double in the coming decades, it's one of the fastest growing country in population. The government is too scared to put in place efficient 'family planning', Pakistan being one of the most religious country in the world.
I can't understand why countries like China aren't investing more in researching ectogenesis.

It seems a good solution for the future of their population, the fertility rate will probably never go back to 2.

Easy trick they could do to develop quicker and lesser the level of curruption: give women more rights and power. Europe is certainly not hindering them
Re:Happy 4th of July on Monday July 04, 2022 @06:47PM (#31982490)
Most of the shootings in US towns seem to be gang related.
You mean the US, because in a lot of european countries, we very much like using our public transports and bikes
Do you have legitimate source for this claim?

France spended billions of euros to fight islamist groups in Mali at the demand of the government. No resources worth the billions France spended in Mali

Re:How did Europe become the richest part of the world? on Sunday March 20, 2022 @09:08AM (#30742307)
France mostly lost money with colonisation. Sure, there were some people getting rich from it. This is was more for the prestige than money. I can't say the same for the UK, not having read much on the economic of colonisation for them.
Re:Yemen has lost internet after Saudi-led airstrikes on Friday January 21, 2022 @08:41AM (#30023307)
Would you excuse Hitler with the same sentence? You can switch islam with white supremacy, it's a similar supremacist ideology in search of a boogeyman. Protocol of Zion is still cited as a legitimate source in the middle east.
Re:Kazakh president’s home ablaze as protests escalate on Wednesday January 05, 2022 @01:16PM (#29812764)
I am not sure why this is downvoted, because this is what happened in Iran, the islamists took advantage of the 1979's revolution.
What the hell is this type of comment?! This is the same stupid phrase neo-nazi use to joke about the Holocaust.

Thousands have been killed by the terror, even some of his allies turned against him because how bloody it was.

There is already one which has been built and it has mostly positive reviews.

Thanks, it seems very well liked.
Was very pleasantly surprise with brave search.
Re:The New Population Bomb on Thursday September 23, 2021 @05:25PM (#28635661)
The coming research on ectogenesis, and it's probable future implementation will allow human civilization to continue without culpabilizing people to have at least two kids.
Re:Societies that treat women badly are poorer and less stable on Saturday September 11, 2021 @04:51PM (#28495853)
This is the thought I have about the Middle East, that if women would be more in power, a lot of the countries would develop quicker.
That would be illegal
Re:Guantánamo survivor on the war on terror’s failure on Monday August 16, 2021 @08:18AM (#28197195)
Russia bounty on US soldiers story was probably fake, medias were quiet when it was revealed.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.politico.com/amp/news/2021/...

And how long since we consider that an ever growing population is not a good thing for the environment?

When I read medias like Bloomberg, they seem legitime in their climate change coverage, but they always lament the slow growth of US's population.

I read just some days ago that Turkey couldn't even take off their canadair because they didn't maintained them, and has leased planes from Poland and other countries.
Re:South Korea: The only middle power of its kind on Tuesday August 03, 2021 @03:14PM (#28052938)
These countries must invest in ectogenesis. I really don't understand why this is never talked about when the low fertility rate in the developed world is discussed.

South Korea has invested billions in trying to have its fertility rate increase by giving incentives to couples, it has only worsen.

We must get to the idea that it will be almost impossible in the developed world to get back to a fertility rate above 2.

Ectogenesis can be one of the solution.

Can we achieve prosperity without economic growth?

Because at a point, we sure can't have prosperity with continuous population growth.
