Re:How close can pure functional programming get to C? on Saturday October 24, 2026 @10:27AM (#50221569)
So, lean-zip "outperforming an equivalent Rust package that crates.io says has been downloaded over a billion times". Yes, zlib-rs has only been downloaded 200 million times... But it is way faster!

Re:Zig by Example on Monday June 08, 2026 @12:48PM (#48447767)
In that case, definitely learn Rust, it will expand your thinking about programming and be useful. Zig would just be too similar to C.
Note that this is the webpage: https://tejaswigowda.com/ffmpeg-webCLI

Works really well. It does say "100% local. Data never leaves your browser." but indeed, a icon that does not a cloud-upload would be clearer.

Re:Bun Has Been Converted to Rust. Now What? on Wednesday June 03, 2026 @09:31PM (#48392566)
What has not been talked about here yet, and which isn't directly about AI, is this: "The benchmarks are neutral-to-faster, and the binary shrank by a few megabytes"

This says more about Zig versus Rust, and I was surprised by it, that a "direct translation" of this kind would give a somewhat faster and smaller binary.

He meant `command which`

An exclamation mark instead for impure would solve that.

Re:Dirtyfrag: Universal Linux LPE on Friday May 08, 2026 @02:35AM (#48059429)
It seems that this is allowed as part of a dependency chain...
He does say that LLMs are just a part of the models used these days.
That "it" is a huge variety and range of things...

Re:We Rewrote JSONata with AI in a Day, Saved $500K/Year on Friday March 27, 2026 @01:29AM (#47539356)
Golang is a bit more basic and explicit.

I've been refactoring stuff with anonymous ChatGPT usage..!
And "However, the two variables would be correlated if the causal arrow were reversed" is missing "also", almost suggesting that the article gets it wrong and the two variables are not correlated because of the placement of the causal arrow...

Re:Robert Duvall has died on Monday February 16, 2026 @09:42PM (#47043090)
I was going to say this, love The Apostle, very few people have seen it.
Bingo! I was wondering where the sane voices were on this topic.
My take: this is a paid-for hit piece to discredit a way of voting that makes total sense and is not all that hard to secure and make verifiable.
If it is glyphosate related, it should be way more widespread...
Re:Nova Launcher Added Facebook and Google Ads Tracking on Tuesday January 20, 2026 @11:23AM (#46693687)
I tried with Round Sync to add a button for a certain task to my home screen, and it doesn't work... That is very sad, it used to work on Nova.
