NOTHING about the event about which there is a lot of data available.
Yeah WE KNOW THEY CENSOR, CHINA BAD.
It's not even some red scare anymore.
It's like we collectively need the repeated constant mention of "china bad", like some sort of mental pacifier, to not see everything wrong and just as bad in censorship in the west (UK, Germany, sometime the US), or more broadly everything which is going to shit here but is soaring and going well in Asia.
Mental infantilisation to the extreme, to keep our inner frightened and traumatized children in control. Thank you for helping that effort soldier.
They are a pay for play publication, which some PR agency associated with Foggy Bottom "contacted" to tout the horn of some group of western capitalists.
Said capitalists got beat at their own anti-protectionist game IRL. They have no easy solution to end up on top, so they are trying their hand at "manifesting" the result they want, like some under-prepared teenagers before a test.
This "you're overproducing" meme is their try at using basic Marxist semantics. According to Marx, Capitalist economic crises are always crises of overproduction of commodities (exchange values).
The meme is designed to sow doubt in minds worldwide which are in the danger of thinking that Chinese Communism might have solved some of the basic contradictions of capitalism.
This meme is an ode to fatalism: even in Communism, ever declining rates of profit are inevitable and so are boom and bust cycles and crises.
With luck, even some people of high rank in the Chinese intelligentsia could be convinced of that...
FTFY, I know it's easy to mix up the two when trying to generate engagement.
They don't want the headache and would be rather content to stop their efforts at Kharkhiv-Odessa line (if that's even possible to achieve for them, of course).
Blows my mind that instead of doing that, I read an article how he was somehow meeting CSIS agents warning him of the danger two weeks prior to the assassination...
- US DoD can't, in peacetime (wrt the US), technically force an unwilling US company to be complicit in attacking foreign military assets (see below vs status of "war").
- also various int'l treaties on space assets, and various other ones applicable by analogy would bore a deep hole on SpaceX's insurance premiums, and on any derivates liabilities based on SpaceX's stock (6.3 Billion $ loan SpaceX made to Elon so he could buy Twitter/X ahem...).
- Similarly Russia probably privately warned SpaceX about a private company being possibly ^ complicit in an act of war against them outside of the home country of SpaceX being at war with them - huge liability issues SpaceX'd lose big time.
- also the matter the system relies on ground stations in a variety of countries also comes into it.
...not much anybody can do unless US or NATO formally declares war. US and Russia might be in a cold snap, but there is no violence, moreover outside of a declared war zone (surprisingly neither Russia nor Ukraine technically declared war, for a variety of intl' legal reason which are advantageous to both - hence the "Special Military Operation" b---s--t moniker everybody mocks publicly, but everybody respects legal--ly).
The audacity !
But I'm not sure he has the money to pay. I wonder how the Lybians will react. Hopefully his apprentics Marty McFly will be able to negociate something.
Apparently there was some advances needed in materials science nobody bothered to invest in on the US side until 2-3 years ago, when Russia demonstrated their new toys in production.
While we are at it, let's scrap the UN too, as it is in and of itself an emanation of such competing doctrines.
All meaningless, as reality is an illusion.
Would you rather he put up a set of safe spaces in the offices to shield their emotional health from the realities of working at a major company in a capitalist economy ?
The pain of seeing a quarter of your industry close for lack of energy might have easily bent the will of Germans and others after this winter. All political announcements about replacing Russian gas before 2027 at the earliest were a pipe dream (pun intended)for anybody with any actual knowledge of the industry.
Even now, a large portion of what was supposedly bought elsewhere was just repackaged and re-originated at the port of loading, but actually Russian gas - hence part of the price hike going to a chain of middlemen.
But, seems a lot of western leadership is blind.
Fully distributed consistency algorithms running on N nodes on linked list in which each node is a Turing-machine program run concurrently on N nodes, whose consistency shall also be insured, and which can write on said linked-list. Everything has absolutely tons of edge-cases related to the distributed nature of the thing to take care of.
Of course, I haven't even begun anything about the whole "crypto" part, and minimizing power usage.
Absolutely no meaning besides "linked lists", riiiight...
To achieve that, you needed to have enough confidence in yourself and your ability to measure and feel stuff (which some people think is bad, apparently) versus some consensus which purports to know better.
Courageous new science regularly blasts old knowledge and education to bits, and that's a good things.
