Re:Formlabs Studio 1 $699 Resin Printer on Wednesday October 28, 2026 @11:23PM (#50284210)
There is nothing like that currently available, or likely to be created (resin curing is a chemical process, not a melting/solidifying).
Re:The Agent SDK on Wednesday October 28, 2026 @11:47AM (#50275649)
Hackers hate frameworks because they hide the underlying truth of a system.
And then an icestorm happens and her bill is $2000?

I guess you have the edition of Deities and Demigods where they were cut...

From the summary, this affects contractors and providers of IT services and products to US Federal Civilian Executive Branch agencies. It has nothing to do with any other part of the federal government (e.g. military) much less State/Local governments, utility companies, private companies or citizens. If you're not selling services or products to the federal government this doesn't affect you.
Far be it from me to suggest that Trump has announced a deal that would be physically impossible to execute just to try to swing the upcoming midterm elections by a couple points, but my guess is the next we hear of the deal is when he's telling us it was ruined by Democrats somehow.

No, I thought of the penguin of doom...
Re:Publishers Killed the Paperback, Then Blamed Readers on Monday October 12, 2026 @03:47PM (#50061965)
For all the talk of how one doesn't "own" an ebook, I certainly "own" them more than all of the boxes of books I've taken to the Friends of the Library drop off.

To the funny farm, where life is beautiful all the time...

But seriously, having heard something like that on Dr Demento while you're trapped in the back of a car during a 8 hour trip to grandma's and then trying to find a copy of it somewhere which involved asking every music section/record store clerk you came across for the next 8 years, makes you remember that we really are living in an incredible time...

I believe they meant the administrations of the schools/districts

To figure out MPG you were getting.
Somehow I doubt there would be fewer jobs in healthcare if the government takes it over.
I'd put the emphasis on Tactical- 3500 is not a lot of a tactical weapon, but that's because there are not a lot of tactical targets worth launching a missile at. The fact that they're being used at all just shows what a cluster the entire operation is.
This should be higher, the Army never had a lot of ATACMs to begin with as launching missiles at things is not really their job.

Doesn't make the points about this administration not having a real plan invalid though...

Re:Most countries provide between 20 and 40 paid days off on Tuesday August 04, 2026 @03:03PM (#49173351)
It depends on the job and is not mandated to be paid, or even given off.
Re:The Lost Civic Life of Movie Rental Stores on Thursday July 30, 2026 @11:15AM (#49111240)
Article should be titled 'The Lost Civic Life of Mom and Pop Stores'- no kid making $4.50 an hour is cultivating a third space atmosphere at Blockbuster, whereas any Mom and Pop place can do that, no matter what they sell.
It's funny, one of the benchmarks I've used when trying to decide when things went off the rails was that banning CFCs was a relatively uncontroversial thing in the 1990s. Now, I agree with your pessimism.
Apple Store? Surely you mean Babbage's.
The result would turn into that concentrated evil black lump from Time Bandits

Re:Late Bronze Age Collapse on Friday July 10, 2026 @12:22PM (#48862068)
Given my extensive study of civilization, the collapse was caused by Gandhi launching nukes.
There's no reason an AI notetaker couldn't be certified to handle HIPAA and PII data.
You've never heard a parent or teacher say they bribed their kids for good behavior?
Re:Why is Meta destroying its engineering organization? on Tuesday June 30, 2026 @02:04PM (#48736685)
Thanks for the explanation. Meta indeed.
So if I buy and sell Pokeman cards I shouldn't have to pay any tax because WotC pays corporate taxes?
Re:Why is Meta destroying its engineering organization? on Tuesday June 16, 2026 @03:38PM (#48560770)
I don't know what Cold Harbor means in a Meta context, but its interesting that its named after the battle that exemplified Grant's strategy of attrition during the American Civil War. I suspect it means waves of engineers ground down against the defenses of OpenAI/Anthropic in the hopes of eventually finding a crack. Might be best to get out while you can.

Montana is home to the Crow Reservation so it might be indigenous.
It's the Innsmouth look.
