Re:Astra can read and write weights to improve Qwen on Monday November 02, 2026 @03:43PM (#50343437)
That's my point. The human says it can't do it -- but maybe they can.
Re:Astra can read and write weights to improve Qwen on Monday November 02, 2026 @02:25PM (#50342256)
So I just asked Astra if it thinks it could do this and it said no, it can't.

Perhaps, I'm pondering, if brains were as transparent and editable as LLMs, that you could look at a small brain when visualized the right way and have some intuitive understanding of it based on its representation in your own brain?

Re:Binance-hacker-1029 – $5.6B stolen from Binance on Thursday October 29, 2026 @08:25PM (#50298261)
They can track it just fine. It goes straight to North Korea.
Really? Because you'd think for profit they would want to minimize token burn and therefore get away with lower limits on their plans
Though notably she was using GPT-4o and not their health product, 4o being much more sycophantic and definitely their most controversial model.

ChatGPT Health just tells me to go to the hospital right away for any minor thing

Re:Image generation has come a long way since August 2022 on Monday October 26, 2026 @05:11PM (#50251020)
No modern or over-time comparisons?

In some ways I prefer looking at these over the hyper-polished 2026 image generators tbh.

Re:GPT-6.1 Terra (Max) Scores 48 on Artificial Analysis on Monday October 26, 2026 @05:05PM (#50250936)
Sonnet scores 56 (higher than Astra and Fable) which is a little sus. LiveBench still has the closest benchmark rankings to my personal vibes, though they don't have Terra yet. https://livebench.ai/#/
Re:GPT-6.1 Terra on Monday October 26, 2026 @02:47PM (#50248944)
I don't know why this is so hard to understand.

It's like iPhone 17 being faster than iPhone 16 Pro. Because it's newer and benefits from advances in chip architecture, despite being a lower model tier. Sometimes different iPhone models are released at different times.

The Apple TV really threw me, $299 new but last gen started at $129
Re:What goes into making an animated film? on Sunday October 25, 2026 @05:41PM (#50236331)
Neural Viz had really good consistency and really good scripts, also importantly knew to write the story around the limitations in what AI could do, including using non-human characters to avoid that uncanny valley that I immediately see in the Kono Express video. Truly a master at his craft, it's a shame he hung it up!
Re:Cerebras Deploys Trillion-Parameter AI Models on Sunday October 25, 2026 @01:04PM (#50233690)
Isn't Cerebras serving Sol 6.1 Ultrafast?

Trail of Bits is a well-known security research and audit firm
Re:The Rise and Fall of Jev on Friday October 23, 2026 @03:00PM (#50213804)
It's still a pretty new field but Jev handily beats Luna-decisions on the Artificial Analysis Decision Index on every metric (price, latency, and accuracy)
Re:Claude Duet on Wednesday October 21, 2026 @05:20PM (#50187808)
No, not as far as I can figure. Sure, Claude can access secrets with the CLI but it's not very granular usually it's just asking for access to all secrets
Re:Claude Duet on Wednesday October 21, 2026 @03:45PM (#50186532)
I have a custom wrapper for 1PW that lets an agent browse and request credentials, then I can provide it a lease to access those for a certain amount of time. Super nice and I hope they build that in to 1PW itself.
I think it would be fair to say the harness is the Kitchen and the model is the Chef. The Chef is very capable but limited to the tools, appliances, and ingredients in the Kitchen. If you say "make me a cake" but there's no oven and no flour, you're not going to get a very good cake.
Re:Writing is no longer proof of work on Monday October 19, 2026 @12:33PM (#50154469)
Given the lack of repercussions for AI companies that have hacked various services, there will be an AI company that trains their medical agents on PHI hacked from Epic/Cerner and gets away with it.

What's your source?

Sundar Pichai was given a $692M pay package this year (incentive-linked over three years)

Re:Tesla Roadster on Saturday October 17, 2026 @09:48AM (#50131168)
In theory it could be a car that avoids nearly every accident. Say you're at a red light behind a semi truck and an SUV is about to rear end you. The car could detect the impending crash and lift you up and away from danger.

A supercar that can't crash would be very popular among the ultra rich even at 5 mil a pop.

Nobody's forcing you to use that website
At least Krea doesn't have the GPT-image shimmer! All of the GPT-image images are immediately recognizable as AI.
MPC or multi-sig is a pretty good solution, you can require a 2/3 sign off from different custody solutions (ie. a hardware, desktop, and mobile wallet)
Re:The Gemini Agent on Friday October 09, 2026 @12:16AM (#50015940)
Good, just what people were asking for, yet another AI product from Google
Basically everything. DeFi wasn't even really a thing back then - Ethereum had zero TVL when the rollback happened. Smart contracts were a brand new concept. Competing SC chains like Solana weren't even in the idea stage yet. It also had only one client. Now there is $50B+ in TVL and nine clients and a rollback is just not going to happen.

It's ancient history. It's like still criticizing Apple for how they handled Copland OS.

What "consequences" are you referring to? Anything that has happened in the last 10 years?
That was over 10 years ago now, when the chain was less than a year old. Things have changed. Can we drop it already?
Probably because Luna is faster, cheaper, and approximately as smart
While we can throw around hypotheticals and conspiracy theories about influencing AI results, we know for a fact that search engines and social media are heavily influenced, because there are giant industries around SEO and viral marketing -- plus the huge amount of ads and promoted content, which are literally paying to influence results.
Re:A Map of Every Lighthouse on the Planet on Sunday October 04, 2026 @01:33PM (#49955951)
What would be the reason to buy it then? Just to tell your friends that you own a lighthouse?
Soon we're going to need a meta-orchestrator for all these agent orchestrators
