owly

You assumed that eating plants over processed corn/pea protein/soy isolate/canola oil blocks = a bowl of raw spinach. There are endless delicious cultural cuisines which are made of only plants, not ultra processed, and certainly not boring.
Agreed. Maybe people could just start eating plants instead of over engineered industrially processed blocks of “food”.
Re:The Sounds of CDMX on Saturday September 17, 2022 @01:41PM (#32879465)
I had a similarly positive experience there. The energy of CDMX is vibrant and the city is full of life.

There are definitely places to go for quiet away from the main streets. Sometimes too quiet!

Do you know if GL-AX1800 can be flashed with openwrt? Not on official device list.

Same here. It’s incredibly simple to set up and add exclusions and inclusions.
Re:Time Till Open Source Alternative on Saturday August 27, 2022 @10:57PM (#32625366)
Good examples. OBS is definitely superior. As much as I would like open source creative software, I recommend the closed source Affinity Photo and Designer as Adobe alternatives. Very inexpensive and extremely simple to use.
Are Mazdas still all physical controls? Have any other cars available in the US reverted to physical controls?
Re:“It’s time for Apple to fix texting” on Tuesday August 09, 2022 @11:27PM (#32407573)
Promise all you want, but in the US you can’t activate an iPhone without an Apple ID. Yes, you can set iMessage to only send/receive iMessages using your phone number. However, you cannot set it up in the first place without an Apple ID.
Re:Tailscale ate my network (and I love it) on Saturday July 02, 2022 @08:39AM (#31958527)
While this can certainly be the case for some houses, it really depends on the place and its condition when purchased.
Forgetting “all the popular music released between 1999 and 2004” is a GOOD thing!

For people new to lineage, what’s the least expensive new device to try lineage 19?

If you eat seafood, you should watch Seaspiracy. It uncovers the massive amount of lies flowing from the seafood industry. https://www.seaspiracy.org/
This seems reasonable. Ask for 15 and maybe get 5!
Re:My macOS keyboard shortcuts on Saturday April 02, 2022 @12:12PM (#30889279)
Hi Ryan! I’ve been using Rectangle since Spectacle stopped being supported. I didn’t know about Pro. You should post demo videos of the various features to make it easier for prospective users to see why it’s so awesome.
Re:A few things to know before stealing my 914 on Friday April 01, 2022 @03:46PM (#30882502)
Nice. I’d buy one immediately if they were available in the US.
This is my approach too. Tell real stories to your kids, no matter how tragic. There’s no reset button on this game.
Re:Ask HN: How do you deal with getting old and feeling lost? on Sunday February 06, 2022 @08:26AM (#30232291)
LOL. Getting old is 35.

ONLY $500K in savings at 35. Such a sad story. So sorry for you, as most people are lucky to have saved $50K at 35 or even 55! Money has no meaning if you are feeling lost with $500K.

Seriously though, my advice would be stop comparing yourself to others. Older or younger, married or single, successful or not, fit or fat. Know thyself. Go on a meditation retreat. You have nothing to lose and no limitations.

As others have wisely stated, health is paramount. Challenge yourself with a physical activity you’ve never done before. You’ll meet new people on the way.

Rethink work. List causes you truly believe in, then find an organization which aligns with one and apply for a job in your specialty to expand their reach. Work with purpose even if it’s only a year. Consider is a sabbatical if you need to frame it in a non committal way.

Re:Ask HN: Spotify vs Apple Music? on Sunday January 30, 2022 @05:31PM (#30141910)
Spotify definitely has the better recommendation engine. AM has much better quality. I’ve only come across a few artists not available on AM. I only use AM on mobile, so haven’t compared desktop or cross platform. Obviously AM is favoring iPhone users.
Re:Spotify’s Platform Rules and Approach to Covid-19 on Sunday January 30, 2022 @05:20PM (#30141783)
1. Someone arguing against hosting Joe Rogan on their platform could easily interpret that COVID misinformation is violating their first rule.

“Content that advocates or glorifies serious physical harm towards an individual or group includes, but may not be limited to:”

2. I wonder if any younger current artists will follow Neil and leave the platform. I think Neil and Joni are unlikely to lose listeners as fans will simply migrate to other platforms. This could decrease Spotify’s strong position as a music platform and drive a perception that they are becoming a podcast platform.

Re:Tesla Safety Score Beta on Saturday September 25, 2021 @01:25PM (#28654745)
Tesla is not alone on this. Other manufacturers are starting to enable similar levels of tracking, often automatically opted in and you have to go through several steps to opt out. In a few years, the only option with be not to drive or buy a classic car.
Re:The Framework is the most exciting laptop I've used on Tuesday September 21, 2021 @09:23PM (#28612140)
Anyone running Fedora 34 on Framework who would be willing to share their experience?
Yeah. I was lucky enough to have one department head who agreed to testing out and was able to bypass two required courses. It doesn’t make much sense to require courses which the student has already mastered. Only reason is $$$.
You sir, have a HIT! $2 is a steal for this. One question, what is the app icon supposed to be? I think a kids smiley face or the cat example would make for a better impression.

Has anyone here successfully migrated a large organization from MSFT to Libre? How was user adoption and feedback? Any specific issues to report when collaborating with external organizations using MSFT?
