And that's the crux!

This makes me realise that the amount of wind affects the number of viable leaves.

It's a Breakout clone. I mean that's what they're generally called in case you did not already know this.
I don't really understand any of the maths in this article, and spent ten minutes at the beginning trying to remember/rediscover what little-o is (I'm familiar with big-O, but not little-o), but this is absolutely one of the best things I have read in a very long time.

I can't quite work out whether the author is demonstrating comedy, is having a hysteria from a breakdown, or if it's something in between, but it completely captures the feeling at the moment of being usurped and out-gunned by AI tooling as a knowledge worker.

It's the Zoolander feature.
Have you tried the free models on OpenCode Zen?

All they were missing was the shark.
You don't understand how low resolution my screen is. That's seventeen rotations of the mouse wheel.
Re:How to head into VR without wearing a headset on Saturday October 10, 2026 @03:40AM (#50030633)
It did make me laugh. I read the whole article envisaging some sort of mini holodeck only to get to the final reveal image at the end.
Re:Keyboard differences between Windows and Macs on Friday October 09, 2026 @10:42AM (#50021212)
Crazy, I hadn't appreciated that.

So:

  Fn-Left = scroll to top
  Fn-Right = scroll to bottom
  Fn-Up = scroll page up
  Fn-Down = scroll page down

  ⌘-Up = cursor to top
  ⌘-Down = cursor to bottom
⌘-Left = cursor to start of line
⌘-Right = cursor to end of line

You know I have literally never noticed that, but you're right. The carriage slides over to the right, leaving the levels to hit the left side of the paper.
Re:Keyboard differences between Windows and Macs on Friday October 09, 2026 @08:09AM (#50019353)
I've kinda got used to Fn-Left and Fn-Right for home and end now. It has taken a very long time though.

So were the 2008 ones.
Re:Excel now supports multiple values in a single cell on Friday September 25, 2026 @06:39PM (#49850898)
Weird, because I remember a job where we had arrays in Excel cells back in 2008.
We should be thankful for the small mercy they their manta at least rhymes.
Re:Fixing the Portobello Police Station Clock on Wednesday September 23, 2026 @11:50AM (#49817937)
It's almost certainly this. I suspect the advance button can be used to advance the time via morse code LED flashes and only then committed when you get to the right hour.

Perhaps the long-press commits the hour, which is why it rang once initially.

I don't think it's just language. I remember having this happen just by having separate groups of friends. You end up in a situation where the two friend groups meet and suddenly realise that you are two different personalities and that you don't know how to act.
Is it load-bearing, or is it the seam?
"I also hear a lot more questioning people in their domains and challenging opinions, then hearing what I can only imagine are fragmented pieces of conversations they had with an LLM thinking through some argument. Then there’s silence when you discuss shortcomings, then they come back later with their memorized fragments of what you said, combined with memorized fragments of the LLM response to the argument."

We hired this guy recently.

He must have been a very itchy man.

Well it would gently encourage you not to miss.
