Right at the start of the abstract of the second article. As the parent says, there is a wide consensus on this.

Re:Barcodes are about to go extinct on Saturday October 03, 2026 @04:45PM (#49947597)
Now that self-checkout passes large part of the scanning costs to the end user, this doesn't seem to be a big issue anymore.
How is additional paperwork supposed to help? Jamming is already illegal and usage of ISM bands is quite strictly regulated.
No, it seems that they are banned in North Korea.
This is obviously not the point if the surcharge disappears on packages with total price over 150 €.
I do not know about this being the case in Germany only; I am in a nearby country and the system is very similar. I also do think it is insane, as the fee is on top of the real estate agent fees, it is specified by the law and unavoidable, and I get a service I do not really need or want and it costs a lot of money.
Re:Intel Arc Pro B70 Review on Wednesday April 29, 2026 @02:38AM (#47944865)
This is incorrect, prompt processing is compute bound.
Note that Boox does not release the sources for the GPL software they redistribute.
Re:Windows 11 Notepad to support Markdown on Wednesday February 25, 2026 @04:08PM (#47157877)
This might be the reason for Markdown support, LLMs love it.
Re:Linux From Scratch ends SysVinit support on Tuesday February 03, 2026 @09:34AM (#46871455)
> Developers don't have to package their project for all distros

Essentially nobody uses the sources we provide. Literally nobody packages them. A few people use our rpm and deb packages, but the vast majority uses a (slightly broken and outdated) docker image built by third party.

You might not like it, and I certainly do not, but unfortunately containers seem to be the best alternative that just works, compared to everything else.

The _second paragraph_ of TFA gives a reason for the introduction. Please explain how you came to the conclusion that the change was arbitrary.

Re:Apt Rust requirement raises questions on Tuesday November 25, 2025 @11:51AM (#46047756)
Pentium Pro is the first i686 CPU, so you should be fine.
Re:Evaluating the Infinity Cache in AMD Strix Halo on Wednesday October 22, 2025 @08:51AM (#45668309)
GPT-OSS 120B uses native 4 bit representation, so it fits fine.
Works with a Samsung watch and their app. (I wouldn't really recommend it, though.)
Re:Gemma 3 270M: The compact model for hyper-efficient AI on Thursday August 14, 2025 @05:04PM (#44905678)
The context is garbage and full of "Mount Everest" already, so the model goes with that. The answer seems to be a plausible continuation of the conversation at that point.
Re:Qwen3-235B-A22B-Thinking-2507 on Friday July 25, 2025 @03:35PM (#44687396)
Yes. The original DeepSeek-R1 answered those questions just fine. The newer models seem to be much more brainwashed.
Is this any different from using --cache-type-k and --cache-type-v?
Re:The C23 edition of Modern C is now available for free on Wednesday October 16, 2024 @09:06AM (#41858643)
MIPS is still quite alive in consumer networking hardware.
I block every ad I see, seems to make the rest of them go away.
Re:Gas Leak in the Baltic Sea on Tuesday September 27, 2022 @07:35PM (#33002539)
Biden most certainly did not announce he would do _this_.
Could be useful, but not _that_ useful for me to consider polluting my global shell namespace with this name.
Re:For what are the Windows A:\ and B:\ drives used? on Saturday January 15, 2011 @03:00AM (#2106674)
32-bit Windows 7 runs 16-bit programs just fine.
Re:Why GIMP is Inadequate on Tuesday January 11, 2011 @11:43PM (#2094996)
CRTs will show what the RAMDAC on the video card feeds them. They shouldn't have limitations like this.
Re:Google Chrome for Linux goes stable on Wednesday May 26, 2010 @12:54AM (#1379546)
I'm a fan of Konqueror myself. For some reason nobody seems to use it. Konqueror is stable, fast, doesn't use much memory and renders everything just fine.

No, all-pairs shortest path problem is in P as well.
Re:Add multitouch gesture support to laptops running Linux on Saturday November 14, 2009 @12:20AM (#941446)
Unfortunately it's only an imitation of multitouch - http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/news/item/9051_Multi-touch_on... is IMHO much more impressive.
Re:Nethack - Best Game Ever (2000) on Sunday May 10, 2009 @04:51PM (#602481)
ADoM is also good, but closed source unfortunately. Can't play it on my PDA.
Re:How to beat that exhausted feeling on Wednesday May 06, 2009 @04:47PM (#596691)
Should have gone to http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=593729, my bad. I don't seem to be able to delete it, why?
Re:How to beat that exhausted feeling on Wednesday May 06, 2009 @02:21PM (#596396)
It's making me fucking sleepy. I can't procrastinate well enough now.
