Alternative theory: Trump doesn't trust the NSA and wants a phone that they haven't touched. Intelligence agencies "leak" the "fact" through the NYT that Trump is being eavesdropped on by Russia and China with no evidence, in an attempt to coerce him into dropping his personal phone, whether for nefarious reasons or not.
Arcade cabinets are the wrong comparison. Better are home consoles, in particular the NES/Famicom. A fine-scrollable tilemapped background + hardware sprite multiplexing made it trivial to develop games for the Famicom that would be technological marvels on contemporary home computers, yet no western computer manufacturer came up with that design, despite being small additions on top of text-mode graphics and hardware sprites.

Really jogs the noggin' as to why this particular country receives the preferential treatment it does on the international stage in spite of actions that would have any other country sanctioned or bombed to smithereens. I can't quite figure it out! It's also pretty interesting how this comment was able to draw out so many purely organic defensive comments, more quickly than even a thread critical of China would.

You had an affair and you still feel you can judge this guy. Whether that means you cheated on a contemporary partner, or simply that you enabled him to cheat on his "alcoholic wife," you objectively did something immoral, yet you feel no remorse, just rationalized butthurt that he didn't pick you.

> He wasn't especially good looking, but he had beautiful blue eyes and I had a thing for blue eyes and told him how much I liked his blue eyes.

These statements would set up massive, bar-you-from-the-industry-forever red flags on any man that dared express them.

Most of the major game engines of the past 20-30 years were programmed in a large part by people that started with BASIC.

Are you sure they weren't just trying to fuck with the naive newbie?
