These things are great, I've managed to get them into all my indoor units without too much trouble. If you've already got them integrated into Home Assistant check out Versatile Thermostat (you can find it in HACS), if you've got temp sensors in the rooms with your AC you'll get very good target temperature tracking, much better than the auto functionality built into Faikin.

Couldn't agree more, that doesn't mean it's always going to be the same. A lot of programming jobs these days are putting information from a database on a screen, then updating it in the database after it's been edited. Doesn't feel like that should be an impossible thing to automate in a fairly sophisticated way. Though that's been true for a long time and we don't seem to have made much progress.

I remember reading about the Infinite Polygon Engine in Edge (UK video games mag).
Pleasantly described as twaddle on Eurogamer in 2003. https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/r_republic_pc
Still disappointed!

Bluntly put, smarter programmers than you are automating you out of a programming job.
Not pretending for a second I'm safe.

Hetzner is great - we run a couple of Ethereum nodes (non-mining) on there and we've had zero issues with it for nearly a year. Great support, had SSDs installed almost immediately, almost no downtime. Cheap!
