helix has a plugin system in the works, but unsure when it’ll actually land. lots of folks are already daily driving it, myself included.
fwiw it’s incredibly easy to build from master
last time i looked at it i couldn’t figure out what the difference was or why anyone would choose this over helix.
you wonder if the problem is hobbyists? i doubt it. go look at hobby projects on gh. now compare that to the ci pipelines you’ve built and used professionally.
without question, i expect the “professional” pipelines to be larger and less efficient.
observationally, engineers are producing far more prs and more ci runs than ever before. i would think this is where the significant impact is coming from.
this almost feels like a monkey paw scenario, where poor laws can fundamentally alter things in a way that is surely not intended.
"make the board 1x1"
and the flag is placed off the board... i feel like i would blow my foot off with this.
I tried insisting that the bug and the walls were on different planes of existence... But then the flag gained "phase lock" and blocked me.
this is a really neat idea. thanks for sharing!
i understand that, but i also didn’t feel facism taking hold before trump. probably a bad lumping of things, but my experience with id.me has been largely positive.
doesn’t id.me predate trump? i could totally be wrong about that, but it’s not new.
i can’t read the article to see what the specifics are, but assuming it’s essentially the square-cube law it doesn’t mean giant creatures can’t exist, it’s that small creatures can’t scale to be giants while being unchanged.
again i’m guessing, but if the conclusion is something like “if giant humans existed, X, Y and Z wouldn’t work”. then a “giant humans” would have to be something decidedly non-human.
the people writing it are doing it for themselves probably. i wouldn’t expect it to survive a code review. the necessity of using esoteric bash features or syntax is a pretty good smell that you should be using something else imo.
different strokes of course.
echo “read @AGENTS.md” > CLAUDE.md
this is hilarious and i might try it.
yeah, so this was exactly my scenario. i have an xbox and ps5, but bought a steamdeck about 6 months ago to play indie and windows games... its been utterly amazing. i dont care about specs, or graphics, or framerates (within reason). playing on steam still feels like it did when i was young.
maybe im misunderstanding, but you exactly like the person that a steam machine is for.
anyone talking about hw performance is not the intended market. if you have a gaming pc, like building systems, etc, you are not the intended market.
this is for folks who want steam games in their living room and dont want to build their own system.
because being confidently incorrect is a thing?
i mean, then you say it like that…
haha, this is so much better
glad i’m not the only one. i’m more or less baffled reading that.
the fact that this could easily pass as real says a lot about the state of things.
i hope i’m wrong, but probably as long as gabe does.
i think discovery is the real thing all these “back in my day…” blog posts are about. they want the quirk delivered to them, but they’re fallen out of the zeitgeist and conclude that the old days are completely gone.
i don’t think it has to be like this. make dumb or silly stuff, share it.
it feels like the folks who lament about the good ole days grew up, got a corporate job, and forgot how to have fun.
prs not being visible because search is down, various ui elements not loading, pushes failing, merges failing, gha runs that fail with random errors or take forever to schedule
i literally do not recall the last day that passed without someone on my team noticing that some portion of gh was degraded.
i think mise does too much. the deeper you go into its features the more rough edges you’ll find. i predominantly use nix on macos for managing app-level tool and package deps, but mise does a better job for this when you’re a part of a team (and can’t be overly prescriptive).
mise tasks gets gross pretty fast in my experience.
at this point i’m more interested in what _can’t_ run doom.
> The name Pies (pronounced "p-yes")
oh come on
i’d love for this to be required by law. i’m probably not thinking of some great reason why that might be a bad idea, but it seems like an effective way to reduce e-waste.
