This has nothing to do with what was mentioned.
Hahah economically useless defines a large majority of humans with this attitude.
I can run a local model on my 5080 that gets 1/8th of the way to where current evil overlord models are capable… are they going to figure out how to ban that too?
So, someone made use of a software creation tool to create software, quickly.
Does that software directly utilize ai?
So, no. The answer was no.
Comparing either CNN or even MSNBC to Fox like this is a clear indication that you have never critically viewed these three channels in comparison.
The ridiculousness Fox gets away with and have gotten away with for decades is mountainous compared to anything else that boomers watch. Ailes and Murdoch wrote the playbook on modern disinformation and it is laughable to compare Fox to any other news channel.
Unfortunately, Fox has been so successful as an entertainment “news” organization that the other competing ones, praise be capitalist ingenuity, have adopted much of their scumbag playbook.
Fear mongering / doomsaying has been a popular human tendency for as long as we have been able to record our interactions.
If you’re vague enough about it, you can never be wrong! And if you’re overly specific and have a modest following of rubes with more money than sense, you can take some of it! A lot of it!!
lazy writing is always valid ground for criticism…
Very interesting. I’m in the same boat with a little more hyperactive and a little less autism. I never learned the filtering thing and I feel nearly as sensitive and doubtful as I did as a kid. It leaves me to dwell on everything and rarely make firm decisions, so I have the opposite problem.
Fair point. I likely never encountered truly bad public transit since it was never pointed to as viable.
“Tolerate” is doing a lot of lifting here. You responded to someone saying treatment and support make addiction manageable. In the United States we had drug companies devising as many ways to make a profit off pain pills for years, so there’s tolerance, but when people started losing their jobs and their minds in mass due to the poison these companies were knowingly getting their customers addicted to, there was no plan or inclination for treatment or support.
Even when a transit system is bad, you often find people use it anyway in situations where large events make driving a fool’s errand. There’s a hard incentive and comfort hurdle we’re decades from alleviating via impossible fuel prices for your average Joe
Please don’t tell me this is just the beginning…..
Why though? There’s nothing inherent about speeding production up, producing more at once, or increasing profits that makes things cleaner or safer, and the obvious argument is the opposite. If the regulations that force cleanliness and safety get peeled back too far, you could be left with all of the conditions for worst case scenarios because of how much more efficient the thing has become.
I would much rather rely on data on this kind of question over vibes. Efficiency means things move quicker and cheaper, and a few people get richer. It does not by any means inherently increase safety. The effects of a fuckup in a hugely efficientized industry often scale directly with just how much efficiency was mined away from caution and human-interaction.
Bubba flipping burgers getting his dirty hands on your meal might make you sick, but Bobba inspecting the meatslop production line with constant pressure from upper management to be as efficient as possible according to whatever recent regulations were stripped back might accidentally spray the horse-meat product decontaminizer on the pig-meat product, generating a national pandemic.
That would be a massive improvement. “I don’t know, maybe these other smarter more expensive models with more recent training data might… here are some questions you could ask them:…”
“Coding” can be more like communing with an otherworldly presence via esoteric gesturing nowadays than ever. Superstition leads countries and companies.
The outcry has RAPIDLY changed in the last few years and the corpses being propped up in our government buildings by deep-seated corrupted interests have long gone deaf.
lol yes. IF something like that were to happen, the US military is and always has been ready and willing to respond to attacks and that has been the case LONG before our CIVILIAN police started arming up to the teeth, like they’re ready for war.
The cartels have long been wary of US armed response to their actions, and the militarization of the police in the US, while certainly a further deterrent, is much closer to a deterrent against CIVILIAN misconduct and works insanely well as a chilling effect against protestors and unruly gatherings. Yay America!!!!
If the USPS were fully privatized without strict government subsidies or mandates, rural and remote Americans would likely face exorbitant delivery surcharges or lose service entirely.
Once again… the United States is very large.
Language is a flawed vessel for conveying truth and the more people accept that they will never truly (like at a deep, fundamental level - not just truth-like via utility) be understood or understand, the more humility they might approach difficult discussions with, potentially facilitating the cooperation and coordination that language can be great for, rather than the dharma-combat people’s egos have them fighting every time they perceive a verbal slight or challenge.
The disconnect between the reality of and the consumer sentiment of this particular realm of products seems to be one of the most dramatic and widespread I’ve personally ever seen.
They’re not hard to grow…. We can just let granny stay in wonderland…
I know traditional munitions aren’t exactly “clean” but isn’t nuclear fallout still a unique concern?
20% of the people will always just agree with the guy with the microphone.
Medicare for all fixes a lot of the problems with the US health system!
It surprises me it isn’t more assholish in nature given how much they’re all apparently trained on internet interactions…
It reminds me of FIRMLY telling my cat to stop jumping up on the counter
As long as there’s a way to deterministically tie a model call to a human user. I think a loss of culpability is something some companies are afraid of to some extent.
These kinds of claims always throw me off…
“These dynamics exist specifically to wring the humanity out of any and all processes”
Who designed the processes? Reptilians?
Whatever the flaws of the dynamic, I would guess there is something innately human and organic about it, not designed. Just another weird outcome of the efficiency machine of social evolution.
