At what age are social security numbers issued? Folks born in 1989 weren't adults until the 2000s
Why are all the comments getting downvoted? Maybe this one will too? The other replies _look_ like they have substance, so some refutation would be helpful.

Can you do a single run on the last day of the year?
I don't think that qualifies as playing both sides.

It would be interesting to see the linked talk "Useing You're Type's Good", but it seems to have been deleted.
I think most games are written to run on hardware that predates them.

* I am Danish.

* I am a Danish.

Or

Are car seats mandatory for children in taxis in Singapore?

It's awesome in both senses! How readable has it become for you over time? Because on first glance and without syntax highlighting it's a head-scratcher.

This is an interesting post, but as a non-American it's hard to understand what's it's alluding to in some parts.

The one criticism of NGSS I found from a quick skim of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Next_Generation_Science_Standa... is that it teaches evolution.

What does "estimation" mean in the US?!

I use them. I haven't ever heard mention that the content is edited. Do you have a source?

Re:iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27 on Tuesday September 15, 2026 @09:05AM (#49711956)
That's good to hear.

It'll be nice to have an update which isn't just random UI changes.

What is "library migration"?

Wow.

Any chance Podcasts now takes less than 30 seconds to load the Latest Episodes list? I'd rather an outdated list than none at all.
Re:JetKVM Mini on Sunday September 13, 2026 @09:13AM (#49683614)
Agreed, except for "just". To me a KVM is a physical switch for 2 computers to share the same wired peripherals. It took me 4 different tries to find a page which explained what this one is.

Presumably this could also be a useful trait when live highlighting of files when editing, as in-progress typing is likely to be unparseable sometimes.

Isn't Windows also basically free? Every laptop I buy has a Windows licence stuck to the bottom of it.

GitHub also introduced this feature recently in the New Issue GUI.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. I'll keep an eye out, but all seems fine so far.

Is GitHub a tech company? Because that's who they're criticising.

I'm confused where I'm likely to be suffering. If I start using Wayland tomorrow would I even notice? Apart from having to switch DEs, of course.

I hate to contradict you, but it seems like a tautology.
Re:Tell HN: GitHub Is Experiencing Degraded Performance on Monday August 17, 2026 @10:16AM (#49331390)
20% of requests on a GUI page also makes the whole thing unusable.
It's why you never meet a dog that works in a dogfood factory.
Yeah they do. Now add mobile money to the equation.
Great if that works for you.

Asking for money is common over voice or whatsapp in some countries for things like medical care, funerals, weddings, police "fines", school fees etc.
