Re:How Tabasco Became the World's Hot Sauce on Thursday October 15, 2026 @10:12AM (#50103975)
i think the green band that around the neck originally covered the cap as well, like those heat shrink tops of wine bottles
Re:Anthropic bans users from being 'cruel' to its AI systems on Saturday October 10, 2026 @11:08AM (#50033697)
no, just advertising
nailed to a cross

fig 17 shows the assembled motor

it's a linear motor.. like a speaker coil assembly

fig23 shows how a radial assembly could be made

i bet that payment option is used very rarely... its brilliant marketing that costs them almost nothing

people really like to mention the cash envelope, whoever came up with it is a genius

the blame is absorbed by McKinsey the corporation, not the people working there

> is part of a larger program

Re:Former German spy chief arrested for attempted treason on Tuesday October 06, 2026 @06:29PM (#49985051)
the company that runs it calls it 'first official store'

https://www.antsandfriends.com/bnd-shop/

It very much sounds like this was not their idea originally... wouldn't be surprised if this was initiated by BND, and they are legally not allowed to run it themselves or sth like that

Re:Almost half of China's workforce is now in the gig economy on Tuesday October 06, 2026 @03:44PM (#49983095)
half of the workforce ≠ half of the population

Re:First Implantable Cochlear Implant Launches on Tuesday October 06, 2026 @12:33PM (#49980830)
this article is about how the device passed European regulations, which means it is now declared safe to be implanted

implantable devices for patients are amongst the most strictly regulated electronic devices that exist, so yeah, it's safe.

Re:Car is a smartphone on wheels. Here's who's listening on Sunday October 04, 2026 @01:05PM (#49955692)
protect-the-children and catch-the-criminal is a lot more tangible to most people than the concept of privacy in public or digital spaces

they may not be asking for it.. but once you make it a yes/no question and the public has to decide, they will support it blindly

Re:My Cup of Coffee versus Your Subscription Cost on Saturday October 03, 2026 @08:00AM (#49943499)

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/windows/...

I think they fell out of fashion after the scroll wheel was invented

Re:The Mafia may be keeping fentanyl out of Italy on Friday September 25, 2026 @09:03AM (#49844070)

Re:Two Git ignore files nobody told me about on Wednesday September 23, 2026 @10:24AM (#49816676)
you can add .gitignore to .gitignore ;)

It's clear to me that once we finally achieve rogue AGI, it is going to propagate through unpatched WordPress WooCommerce instances.
