I got a much more informative disclosure the day before from Open AI.
The website lets you type in an entire prompt, then tells you to login, then dumps your prompt and leaves you with nothing. Lame.
Actually tax the rich?
Because while you can give as much time as you like as a single person, the charity can't clone you an infinite amount of times and get infinite value out of you for free.
I've been getting by for years with tinkercad. It's not sophisticated but you can make some surprisingly complex and accurate parts with it very easily.
Re:Ask HN: Is anyone using AI conversation partners? on Tuesday May 27, 2025 @11:53PM (#44112605)
I wish they didn't take out the "off the screen" outputs from the previous voice mode. I miss being able to ask it to output an image or codeblock when I wanted to come back to something later.

Do you hate any of the other models less?
Re:Third Party Cookies Must Be Removed on Thursday May 01, 2025 @10:01PM (#43865420)
Here we go again!
Can we be a little annoyed if a big company that can leverage publisher deals, massive amounts of analytics and loss leader tactics actively try to cut off business from smaller companies?
Freaking fuel rods. Can we start melting salt yet please?
Oh man, so many questions! Would a PBH passing close enough to Earth to hit a human end up being drawn to the Earth's core or the Sun? Or would the mass/inertia of a rogue PBH be enough to keep it from falling into a local gravity wall and gobbling up the solar system?

I would love a lidar system I could use to map my house with. What are you hoping to do with WiFi on top of that? Optimal device placement?

Hat tossed!
Re:Self hosted FLOSS fitness/workout tracker on Thursday February 13, 2025 @10:58AM (#43037219)
Huh, I totally don't get this conjecture... What do you consider fitness tracking? In my mind a basic fitness app is essentially a replacement for a journal.
Ok how about a D&D style character sheet for a Lvl 2. Aarakocra barbarian. Lets make it brief and fun with emojis and include prompts for basic rolls and a way to keep track of health points by filling in bubbles or boxes.
Re:When They Hear Plants Crying, Moths Make a Decision on Monday December 09, 2024 @09:10AM (#42366391)
Maybe in a situation where some plants are dehydrated and emitting sounds, and others are healthy and don't - having insects select one over the other helps spread the load a bit?
Re:Useful things I've 3D printed on Wednesday November 27, 2024 @08:51PM (#42261645)
I get an embarrassing amount of mileage out of Tinkercad. It's free and incredibly easy to get going with. I keep meaning to take some time and learn a more sophisticated program but the payoff has never offset the speed of delivery that I get with a rough cut using Tinkercad.
Re:Teen Mathematicians Tie Knots Through a Mind-Blowing Fractal on Wednesday November 27, 2024 @02:23PM (#42258871)
How do you install this?
It's a perfect storm IMHO. Steam OS/proton is rocking and Windows is becoming intolerable. I want to own my computer again.
Re:Disrupting a covert Iranian influence operation on Friday August 16, 2024 @08:40PM (#41271540)
Maybe one of the uses of the generated content detection method that OpenAI supposedly has is they can filter at least some of it out?
Re:120ms to 30ms: Python to Rust on Friday June 28, 2024 @02:18AM (#40818218)
How do you mean? Would you expect it to be much slower?

Aww. I bet Tim is bummed.

Re:Descent: A classic 3-D first-person shooter (2012) on Saturday April 13, 2024 @02:12AM (#40020903)
This game made me so ill. I'm glad someone else had the same experience. I really wanted to enjoy it but just got sick whenever I played.

Often there's a point of senescence or "getting old and slow" that can happen with strains.
Re:A 45 year engineer clears up electric sauna ventilation on Saturday March 02, 2024 @02:58PM (#39575306)
I prefer the steam room at my gym over the sauna because it's much less crowded. I'm convinced the sauna gets more traffic in part because you can use your phone in the less humid environment.
Re:Relativistic Spaceship on Monday February 05, 2024 @11:29PM (#39270814)
According to another comment The author published a few games which include the code this is based off check out "the polynomial" on steam
If they try to stop states from naming snow plows I'll be pissed.
