The only reason we knew about it the first attempt was because it was leaked, whose to say they won't just try again in the future...

It's valid. The distributed consensus ultimately decides which chain will be used.
Re:Sblack: an ultra-lightweight Mac client for Slack on Wednesday November 28, 2018 @06:16PM (#18556600)
Did he take down the repo? It's no longer visible.

Solid observations.

I've used a lot of registrars over the years, and overall Namecheap has been the best experience. I wish they supported U2F, but other than that, no complaints.
Getting clicks take precedence over all things
Another benefit of IH is the dramatically increased HGH production. Not sure if calorie restriction has similar numbers.
Similar to Azure talking about developing underwater datacenters

You don't know he's lying, you just assume it because he didn't cite a source. It's not the first time I've heard people make his claim, so it might not be baseless.

Your social credit score will plummet too, probably.

Same. It makes sense that a big org like that would eventually change, but it still sucks.
Are you suggesting there isn't already a bunch of articles about the very example you gave?
Re:China Is Paying for Most of Trump's Trade War, Research Says on Tuesday November 20, 2018 @08:02PM (#18499366)
It's not as bad here, but just the fact people are downvoting you for stating this suggests it's still common here.

I like using a different plugin manager with OMZ. https://github.com/tarjoilija/zgen

If you use a lot of addons, this can load up prompts faster without losing any OMZ goodness.

Re:Never connect to ProtonMail using Chrome on Monday November 19, 2018 @08:23PM (#18491191)
Vivaldi is a nice de-Googled project, a Chromium fork with all (?) Chrome plugins working on it.
Re:BitChute’s Immediate Removal from PayPal on Thursday November 15, 2018 @04:54PM (#18463807)
You had me until the end. Do you really believe a Chinese alternative to PayPal would be more open and less prone to censorship?
Re:Ask HN: What's the most useful skill you ever learned? on Thursday November 15, 2018 @04:46PM (#18463721)
Transcendental meditation, and making it a daily habit. Changed my life.
Re:Decentralizing the web with Beaker on Thursday November 15, 2018 @02:50PM (#18462657)
Thank you for founding this project. I've been playing around with DAT, and using it with this the browser seems very promising. Keep up the great work.
It's for keeping your body in ketosis. High fat, moderate protein, and zero/very low carbs - which is why people diet this way.

This is why I laughed at Bitcoin Cash's proposed "We'll make our blocks as big as demand is", because long term that doesn't scale if every dedicated host needs the full ledger.
Can you name another project besides IOTA using Ternary? I don't think it's becoming a trend.
Re:GCP is Down on Monday November 12, 2018 @05:17PM (#18436476)
Is GCP under-reporting their downtimes on https://status.cloud.google.com/ ? I thought the Kube issue went on for 2-3 days, as well...
Re:MacBook Air 2018 Teardown on Friday November 09, 2018 @07:05PM (#18419081)
The 13" MBP has two USB-C's, not four. The 15" has four.

Even with this, the Touchbar is gimmicky garbage. Maybe I'm getting old, but I don't want this even if I can customize it.
Re:Tell HN: Amazon now owns 3.0.0.0/8 on Thursday November 08, 2018 @07:42PM (#18411463)
Amazon own the largest public cloud provider (AWS). Assuming they use it on this, it makes sense they'd want a bunch more IP addresses.
Nobody is denying that other countries do it too
Not surprising considering we're still in the early stages of smart contract adoption. I'm curious what this number will be in 2020.
I wish they still pushed this book in schools. The Gulag Archipelago is a fantastic look into the absolute nightmare that was the Soviet Union.
This effort is welcomed! Sen. Wyden is doing a great job pushing this.
