This is a luxury belief and a way to pull up the ladder. The rich and powerful know it's helpful and use it themselves, but tell others it's bad. It imposes no cost on themselves only others.
For the same reason they don't build any tech companies in Europe.
Another question is whether it is defendable at this point. It's not clear that China doesn't have military superiority over that area.
I heard someone say this last week and they never went to prison.
We all do. Humanity is better off thanks to the industrial revolution.
You wouldn't choose to back to the prior time and same will be true with this revolution.
This is only because they still haven't bothered to update to the internet enabled world.
Rich vs poor. The rich can literally chop off food and throw it in the trash.
Does that mean the people defending the misuse of the word "recall" are regulation cultists?
Karpathy, Carmack, Andreesen, Jensen, Dawkins and others who know him IRL say the same. It's endlessly curious how people who don't know him are confident they know better.
To be fair, it was never everyone. Twitter was always small compared to Facebook and other networks.
It punches above its weight because it's where the cultural elite communicate.
Anyone know the math on how many crashes it would take until this would equalize?
He's trustworthy.
If he had that level of neuroticism he would just not say anything or only offer surface level praise.
They just started, the velocity of xAI is novel.
NVIDIA's CEO Jensen Huang: “Building a massive [supercomputer] factory in the short time that was done, that is superhuman. There's only one person in the world who could do that. What Elon and the xAI team did is singular. Never been done before.”
Reddit brain has infected the entire internet. It's literally the same surface level comments that dominate every large subreddit and anything to the contrary gets downvoted to protect the hivemind.
Richard Dawkins: "I have a very favorable impression of Elon Musk and his concern for the welfare of the world.
I have sat with [Elon] on a transatlantic plane and had a very, very long conversation with him. He's undoubtedly highly intelligent and knowledgeable.
I've had lunch with him on two or three occasions, and so I know him a little bit.
I have formed a very favorable impression of his intelligence, his knowledge and his concern for the welfare of the world."
The Poetry of Reality, November 17, 2024
Sorry, but that is mental gymnastics. You've already made your conclusion and are torturing reality to make it fit.
Ironically you should take your own advice and read more books. This is how power already worked and always works.
TLDR: The status quo elite that have been looting the USA with endless wars for decades is being replaced by the brain that runs SpaceX and is the most transparent elite we've ever seen. Why is that scarier?
It's only scarier if you're happy with the status quo. Most people in the real world are not happy with it.
We're better off and this hysteria will have been all for not. You should be excited more than scared, but I get why it would be a mix of the two. There will be, and have already been, mistakes along the way. Just understand that the algorithm that made SpaceX and Tesla both productive and safe In The Real World is replacing the corrupt and unresponsive bureaucracy.
We're headed to a golden age!
It's actually amazing looking at this map on a percentage basis.
States with 10 million plus customers that only have a few thousand without power.
Incredible achievement if you think about it.
They don't censor people. You can say anything as long as its legal.
I'm legitimately curious about this as someone observing from the outside.
Were they on edge when Zuckerberg had a leftward shift in prior years?
And where is the center?
It was good during the Obama campaign.
Bad during the first Trump campaign.
Now we're circling back to good after realizing the scandal was exaggerated.
To be even more precise, here's the message from the source;
> This community has been banned

Thanks for confirming that claim is false.
I checked reddit recently for the first time in a while, and I was shocked by how radicalized its become. An echo chamber of hateful people and perhaps GPTs that are agitating the big subreddits. The contrast is stark with all the "no place for hate" in the rules and endless banning of microaggressions.
I saw dozens of death threats. Even an explicit death threat thread with over 40,000 upvotes before reddit stepped in and shut the whole subreddit down.
It reminded me of Ghostbusters 2 with all the aggressively angry people and the ooze pouring out of the sewers, all building upon itself.
Just fyi fake eggs and fake meat and fake butter are highly processed and include bad ingredients like other highly processed food.
Source for the claim they are removing the word "women" from every public-facing piece of scientific content?
Did you find some that aren't filled with terrible oils and other bad-for-you ingredients? I haven't in my area yet.
