I've been a Gnome user since the start of the month and it has been the best Linux experience I ever had so far. I was thoroughly impressed by its performance too.
My experience with Light Table isn't that fortunate, even moving the cursor through some lines feels sluggish and not great.

Microsoft should take Windows and split it in two: Desktop and Tablet. Because it's just too weird right now.
Windows 7 is a great OS and they could refine it to be even better.
On the Tablet side they should just pick the good pieces of Windows 8 and go from there.
Do one thing at a time and do it well Microsoft!
