It was a good popcorn movie. My family and I loved it and thought it was funny. The story line itself was predictable and repetitive as you said but the throwbacks, cameos, and nostalgia was very fun.
The problem is that the leaders told us that if you got the vaccine you would be immune and not get COVID. The performances of the politicians and medical professionals mandating masking and then seeing them only putting them on right before they went on stage, and continuing to do all of the things the "common" folk weren't allowed to do ruined all of the their credibility. Of course people are going to question all of the recommendations from experts after that.
And whom do we hold responsible for the severe reactions and deaths of babies that get the shots you seem to so desperate for the government to enforce? The reality you want is government overreach and a removal of individual choice.
They did commit a crime by crossing the border illegally. Illegals are free to leave the country on their own and not deal with any of this, in fact they are paid to do so. The idea that removing people who entered America illegally and sending them back is the same as systematically exterminating an entire race of humans is so dangerous and makes any discussion with people who think like you such a waste of time. It's rhetoric like yours that encourage people like the Tyler Robinsons or that sniper who attacked the ice facility.
They can self deport and get paid doing so, it doesn't get any more humane than that really.
This is disgusting hyperbole. Nazis killed millions of innocent people; a nation enforcing border laws by asking illegals to leave or removing them when they don't is not that.
You don't need to have an opinion on everything. Clearly you don't care about this or you would spend the time watching some of his videos or reading his articles that expound on his "controversial" statements. It's ok to just say "I don't know" rather than thinking you're well informed because Wikipedia says so.
The fact you wouldn't try a drug to try and save your own life that at worst does nothing says a lot about you.
That's fair, but also maybe don't base an opinion on 4 paragraphs from wikipedia on topics obviously nuanced.
Because the dead can't respond or defend themselves. That's why you don't do it.
And it's the framing of the statement that is the problem. They didn't say "I disagreed with Scott" or "I didn't like Scott"; they framed it in a way that made it seem like truth. "the entire arc of Scott Adams is a cautionary tale" makes it seem like he did something wrong and there is some universal truth to be had, when it's really just this person disagreed with Scott's political views. It's persuasion, which ironically I think Scott would have liked.
It's certainly not filled with hate or resentment. Scott spoke at length about his stepson's death and it was always with sadness and regret.
Using wikipedia as the arbiter of truth is ridiculous. The man spoke about all sorts of things for an hour a day, almost every single day for years - to boil down his thoughts and opinions to 4 paragraphs that other people wrote is asinine.
You don't need to as they aren't banned and your local bookstore likely already has a shelf right up front of all of these books for purchase.
I am against the banning of books from purchase or from public libraries, however banning books in schools is not that. It is gatekeeping this information from young and impressionable minds, just like we do with movies, games, drugs, all sorts of things. Things that may have negative consequences on developing minds.
You may disagree with what books are banned or why, but allowing unsupervised exposure of elementary aged children to sexually explicit and graphically depicted books such as Gender Queer is not appropriate. If a child wants access to this, their parent or adult can buy it for them or rent it from the public library.
Any suggestions on what's a good Pi replacement?
On the flip side of this many actually do prefer their manual labor jobs. My father in law and brother in law both run their own contracting businesses (one does concrete, the other builds Med Expresses) and their workers and themselves have both said they would never want a desk job and don't know how I stare at a computer all day long.
I'd be interested to see the crime stats from the last year to today - from the sentiment I've seen on social media it appears violence has been increasing since the Jul 2 your source article was posted. Add to that they slashed the police budget on Jul 1[1] I think the OP may have a valid point.

This paper just repeatedly says these are racist words. There is nothing historically they write about that indicates this is true.
This would be poor planning on the renter first. The obligation is on the renter to pay for the service (housing) they are using. The banks expect the mortgage holder to pay for borrowing money. If the renter can't pay they shouldn't get to stay. If the borrower can't pay they will lose the property. If the owner can't pay the taxes, they also lose the property.
I see your point and I think we can all agree that the past few hundred years has been hard on black people. However as the suicide rate and drug overdose rate for white men is increasing I think we should also consider their plight as well. Life can be hard and we shouldn't dismiss problems just because of their skin color.
Why wouldn't Breitbart be on Facebook News? Just about every news site these days is full of strong bias and misinformation - none are objective. They've made it hard to justify why we should listen to any of them.
Just take a look at the NBC scandal with Matt Lauer, or the fake Syrian war footage ABC was spreading around that turned out to be a shooting range in Kentucky. Not to mention the Project Veritas releases concerning CNN and others.
Trust is low with all news organizations and I think The Verge is just continuing to push their own bias onto users with this article.
*edit - I see downvotes but no comments. I'd love to have my mind changed if someone has good reasons other than they don't like right wing media.
This is a terribly worded title by NPR, should be "Canada's Decision To Make More Clinical Trial Data Public Puts Pressure On FDA."
Having said that I really hope the FDA will follow suit.
Along with the other commenters, the 3 month break isn't accurate. It tends to work out closer to about 7 weeks off. I do agree that I also could never do their job! (Source: My wife is a teacher)
I think the "always working 12+ hour days" thing is a myth. My wife is a teacher and I would say her and the teachers she works with will occasionally work extra hours, but by far it's mostly 7.5 hour days (8:30am - 4pm).
I disagree with this piece; it seems like the author doesn't like beef in general (which is fine) but I don't think most people will give up beef for "alt meat". I think it will just be another option, not a replacement. And sales still seem strong to me:
