Why did he stopped then?

The numbers of films produced per year has dropped significantly over time.

Re:Increasing evidence that bears are not carnivores on Thursday October 20, 2022 @10:04PM (#33283502)
I would see a modern version of this, but there will be too many ethical issues in the way.
Re:Reddit announces revamped blocking experience on Thursday January 20, 2022 @10:06PM (#30018681)
As long as someone whom I block can't interect with me, I don't care that much.

Block on twitter works about the same way.

Re:Living on 24 hours a day on Friday January 14, 2022 @03:29AM (#29931912)
I have difficulty taking showers over scrolling everyday. I'm just too tired.

Thanks for the suggestion. This would be going to help me.

Re:The Least Interesting Generation on Thursday January 06, 2022 @12:04AM (#29819659)
I recalled the phrase of "if the world is perfect, it doesn't need art".
Re:Tech Won’t Save Us. Shrinking Consumption Will on Tuesday December 28, 2021 @11:45PM (#29721955)
The article states it(technological advance) wouldn't be fast enough to save us.
All those cat facts are interesting by the way.
Re:LG’s 16:18 ultra-tall monitor means less scrolling on Thursday December 23, 2021 @02:39AM (#29659568)
I love watching old films and playing old games, which are all 4:3 aspect ratio.

Is this going to be a desirable option?

Re:Ligatures in programming fonts: hell no (2019) on Tuesday December 21, 2021 @07:29PM (#29643957)
I personally love ligatures, but

if you’re preparing your code for others to read—whether on screen or on paper—skip the ligatures.
I can agree with this.
Re:Internet Movie Firearms Database on Tuesday December 21, 2021 @07:11PM (#29643786)
I hope there was an Internet Movie Video Games Database.
Isn't discovery of giant dinosaur fossils common before the Renaissance?
Re:Ask HN: Private Alternatives to Alexa? on Wednesday December 15, 2021 @01:41AM (#29562828)
It makes sense, but I never realized how much my brain resources has wasted for finding the remotes for lights and an air conditioner before I tried alexa.
Re:Ask HN: What's your current favorite programming font? on Sunday December 05, 2021 @11:36PM (#29456203)
> JetBrains Mono

Same. It requires least amount of energy to read.

Re:Humans Are Doomed to Go Extinct on Thursday December 02, 2021 @09:17PM (#29425873)
Human will find a way to migrate to another universe in next few billion years.
Re:Humans Are Doomed to Go Extinct on Thursday December 02, 2021 @09:13PM (#29425843)
Cockroaches' prosperity relies on human's.
Re:Ask HN: Why drive users away from the login button? on Tuesday November 23, 2021 @09:59PM (#29326513)
GitHub even completely omitted the login button on their top page (I think it has one now).

I used to google "github", hit the first link, only to find out there was no way I can login, google again with "github login".

This was one of the worst UX I have ever had on the web.

Re:A beginner’s guide to game hacking techniques [pdf] on Monday November 08, 2021 @09:06PM (#29156860)
I guess it is like driving a car?

Everybody knows cars are bad for society and the environment, but you have to drive anyway to go to office.

He said specifically that cheating is "a necessity to play and level up in the game".

Re:Show HN: Download videos, but only the parts you want on Friday October 15, 2021 @03:41AM (#28875367)
I think you can make some money from this if you're interested to do so.
I didn't think digital files have higher quality than vinyl. Do they?
Re:Compare AsciiDoc and Markdown on Tuesday July 06, 2021 @03:58AM (#27745337)
The worst part of AsciiDoc I think is its name.

It sounds so archaic.

Re:All-new iMac features the M1 chip on Tuesday April 20, 2021 @09:46PM (#26884473)
Same. I bought iPad Pro 2018 for the same reason.
Encore Mode is my favorite feature.

It mirrors all the stage geometry and alters the color palettes. This simple tweak effectively messes up your 25-year-old muscle memory.

Re:The Grand Unified Theory of Documentation on Friday April 16, 2021 @01:18AM (#26829804)
I don't know whether it is only in my country, but teachers in school teach students otherwise. Not repeating the same word for the same things is alright for elegant literature, but problematic in the digital era.
Re:The Edges of Our Universe on Thursday April 08, 2021 @10:31PM (#26746106)
It's only my perceptions.

Yes, several hundreds of people had already been in space. Space travel could be the norm in the next few decades. Man could terraform Mars in the next millennium, or conquer the milky way galaxy five million years later.

However, I still feel like "we're stuck forever".

Re:The Edges of Our Universe on Thursday April 08, 2021 @01:59AM (#26735545)
We're forever stuck inside a thin layer of the Earth surface. It makes me kind of claustrophobic.
Re:What Would You Do If the Internet Went Away? on Thursday April 01, 2021 @04:57AM (#26658127)
IP over Avian Carriers for the win!
Re:Mining Bitcoin on the Game Boy on Tuesday March 30, 2021 @02:36AM (#26631746)
He must be joking. It's inappropriate for this site anyway though.
Re:Ask HN: What Lived Up to the Hype? on Thursday December 24, 2020 @10:06PM (#25533850)
I do remember the "name your price" thing, but it seems I've completely forgotten it was unannounced release!

Therefore, there was virtually no hype...

Re:Ask HN: What Lived Up to the Hype? on Thursday December 24, 2020 @02:48AM (#25525773)
How about Radiohead's 2007 album In Rainbows?

Maybe OK Computer too, but I don't know how much hype there were because I was too young then...
