Re:Herdr has released native app

From someone who also used screen and tmux for 30 years: 3 reasons why I switched to herder. They may not be relevant to you and in that case tmux is just great. One: visual indication which agent is working and which is waiting for an input. Two: native support for remote herdr sessions - in the same view. Three: it’s responsive and can be completely touch-driven through menus on a small iOS screen in Termius.

Did you mean “50-98% decrease in running time”? Just calculating from your 26hrs to 30 mins seems to imply so. In terms of speed that translates to 100% to 5100% increase in speed.

The registry of remaining products is a list of irrelevant operating systems hardly anyone uses anymore.
Me. I don’t sit the whole day in front of the working computer or open laptop, but my phone connected to the always on server is always with me.
On the claude side, it periodically signs me out, breaking the session. Yes, I can ssh and reconnect but why? You can use a long-lived token but you are not allowed to run remote control for those sessions. Anything that solves that pesky problem is better than “Claude rc”.

As a driver I would be so freaking confused staring at the empty space behind the wheel. Maybe it is just my Gen X experience of learning to drive on a stick and paying attention to tachometer and coolant temp.

Interesting indeed but might be an artifact of regions being surveilled and Milky Way disk both containing more easily detectable holes and obscuring some areas with the dust clouds (I am not an astrophysicist or astronomer)

Tell me about it. Holding a 4mo old right now, nap trapped :-) Speaking of which - Claude Code wrote me a web proxy for HN that rewrites CSS for the dark mode - precisely for this situation. Written and deployed with Claude Code remote control too, also while nap trapped.
Re:Ask HN: Has Claude Code been (mostly) usable for you?
on Friday July 31, 2026 @08:33PM (#49130028)
I am reading this on hnafterdark - the HN proxy in golang that renders HN in dark mode. Claude wrote it for me, including gitea actions, and deployed to my home server while I was nap-trapped by a sleeping baby. Because I wanted to read HN while nap trapped, without shedding too much light. So: yes.
Re:Carolina Cloud pays SOFR on unused prepaid credits

I think that is why Carolina Cloud pays the interest in credits (redeemable for their services), as opposed to cash. It is not much different how some business give you a discount if you pay the amount upfront or in a more convenient form of payment.

I use tmux with vim and configure it to use Ctrl-a. Not for vim, but because I started with GNU screen that used this key. For the cases when I need actual Ctrl-a, tmux is configured to send it when I do “Ctrl-a a”.
Re:Dostoyevsky Isn't Difficult
on Thursday June 25, 2026 @12:58PM (#48676224)
As a Russian native speaker, names were not the problem, but the dense boring prose of Dostoyevsky was. On top of this, I did not like Crime and Punishment at all. I believe a lot of it has to do with the degree of association of the reader with the main character. As a 14 year old, I could not understand what the whole fuss is about, the whole thing felt like a feverish dream in the pool of molasses.
