in my opinion it's not popular because its private, its just easier to use to send pictures/videos to other people. the time limit makes it seem more "in the moment" good for a quick laugh and then its gone. a big plus is it lets you easily caption pictures and draw on them.
Re:American gun use: Shouldn't the world intervene?

If you assume that its the governments job to keep you safe and in detroit it takes over an hour for the police to show up then you are in trouble. If you are in one of the many isolated areas and rely on the local sheriff for protection who is miles away you are in trouble. If you are in the woods hunting or hiking and run into trouble, the sheriff cant get to you. America presents a variety of diverse situations which come into play with gun laws and general law enforcement issues that other countries in Europe dont have to face.

Re:Who Are the H-1Bs?
on Thursday May 02, 2013 @02:43PM (#5646377)
thats a poor comparison for the education, the average american isnt doing the same kind of work but the comparison for pay is based on the sectors of employment so they are well compensated. And many h1-bs attend undergrad in their home countries and grad school in the US to make them more appealing to US companies, so they are "more educated" because they have the masters but a masters is only 1-2 more years of school depending on the program so it isnt really a big gap.

but then some people will look through the docs, find the exploits and become the top players. Wouldnt really be fair from a game play standpoint but I agree this was one of the most interesting things i have read in weeks.

Re:Did Blowing Into The NES Cartridge Really Work?
on Tuesday September 25, 2012 @04:52PM (#4572596)
if there actually is dust and blowing actually takes it out of the cartridge then it works. the article was saying most of the time it wasnt dusty so there was no point to blow on it but we all still do it, hell i've done it on CD's, flash drives, power connections, pretty much everything electronic if a quick unplug replug didnt work i have tried blowing in it and eventually it works though blowing doesnt help it makes me feel like im doing something to help it work.

I agree, I doubt anybody that doesnt have a law degree would really know how to interpret any of these laws in a normal environment with google to help, let alone being on the jury of a high publicity dispute like this with all that added pressure

IF the family had $300 in disposable income to spend then yes, but if you are living paycheck to paycheck and have little to no savings that $300 is a lot of food for the family or is going to keep the lights on for a few more months. Many are probably aware that it is a good deal in the long term but if that investment makes you late on the rent or gets the power shut off then it isn't worth it.
