I am a dual citizen who is leaving Australia and returning to the states in a week's time. You are allowed to leave granted you are not planning on returning within 3 months or on compassionate grounds. However, getting back is a whole other story.

The issue is returning travelers relying on loose quarantine measures that have resulted in the outbreak we are currently experiencing here in Sydney.

However, I do agree with you, the government has failed on multiple accounts with the vaccine roll-out and is paying the price now. People's patience here, especially those from other countries, is starting to wear thin.

I am finishing up my Msc in Health Data Science in Australia and looking for opportunities when I return to the states (early August). 5+ year experience in healthcare data analytics and 2+ year experience in data science. Exploring opportunities at organizations applying data science techniques in health system operations, population health, precision medicine, and/or public health.

Cheers, Murray

I'm currently working on my Master's thesis related to implementing propensity score matching for program evaluation in the child protection service system.

I cannot stress enough how important #1 is above. The most important part of making causal inferences in an observational experimental setting is identifying and collecting the variables associated with the treatment and outcome. It is easy to conceptualize but much harder to do in practice.

I drink Yerba Mate tea as a substitute. It contains more caffeine than other teas, plus you can drink it out of a cool gourd. Might be worth giving a try!

Very nice! I will definitely be using.

Quick question, are the recipes sorted by anything?

Re:Ask HN: How do you decide what books to read? on Wednesday December 09, 2020 @06:47PM (#25367246)
I'm a library fanatic, so I usually end up browsing at the local library until I find one or two books that look interesting. My local library actually has an "Undiscovered Gems" section that has lead me to some interesting reads from authors I'm not familiar with. I also keep a running list of interesting titles on my library account, putting holds on them as I finish books.

I'm like you, I usually bounce around between fiction and non-fiction to keep my reading balanced. For me, half the fun of reading is simply exploring and discovering new books/authors/series!
