"Often times the time it takes for an order to land on your doorstep is meaningfully longer than it would have taken for you to drive to the store and pick it up yourself."

I don't think there are many people using this because they think they get it faster.

It's a bit sad to think that 100 years from now the low tier models will still be better than us at grammar. They are getting better and we aren't
Care to list the reasons illegal immigration is good?
I've never met a single person in real life that can't understand why illegal immigration is bad or that you have to be racist to think we shouldn't let the entire world in.
The demo of HOMM2 came with a map Broken Alliance. Just the free demo was a top 5 of my all time favorite gaming experiences. I still play it every couple years.
Re:Why Washing Machines Took Decades to Catch On on Sunday October 25, 2026 @12:05PM (#50233051)
If you think that is being pedantic I can understand why you thought the article was well written.

Sounds very intimate

disprove and debunk are not the same word
Re:Why Washing Machines Took Decades to Catch On on Sunday October 25, 2026 @11:22AM (#50232540)
It just takes 5 seconds to think about the treatment of white workers in coal mine to debunk this entire article. My grandmother was a middle class family in mid 20th century and still preferred to hand wash the families cloths until arthritis took over.
This thought process is why nobody in the US considered Europe a threat to our tech sector. You still don’t get it.
You don’t even have your own website to post this rant on.
I'm at a point where if I can't stream a modern game I don't play it. I play a few hours a week and don't want my laptop to get hot.

All the other games I play are 20+ years old and I play in a windows VM.

Re:How the Claude Code team does code review on Saturday October 17, 2026 @09:01AM (#50130768)
If we as engineers didn't use similar terminology to describe any code not written by ourselves for the last few decades perhaps people would take it seriously.
That will stop it surely
It's interesting your complaints are similar to mine about TDD. I've dealt with so many engineers that assume that coverage and passing tests is the bar.
If you want technology that won't report you to the police for credible threats at they can easily detect perhaps create your own. I hear pen and paper work great for this.
Re:Borland Turbo Basic on Monday October 05, 2026 @12:43PM (#49967203)
I hung out on #C from 92-96 quite a bit. The most shocking part of your story was that people didn't recommend an ftp site where you could get anything you wanted for free.
Not sure why he'd want to take the pay cut with being a CEO
You can't even build your own website to go to discuss this.
Re:Toyota is finally taking its best-seller electric on Friday September 25, 2026 @09:33AM (#49844423)
We don't need to bring Norway into a conversation about how cold weather effects batteries.

EVs don’t work well in a lot of North American climates

Yes, the famously meaningless US consumer…
Norway is certainly going to learn this the hard way.
It's punishment. Any society that thinks otherwise is going to have to relearn the hard way.
