Re:Raspberry Pi Zero 3W and Pi 4 Model A spotted in device trees on Wednesday October 28, 2026 @02:36AM (#50269927)
You have really awful PC.

The Pi5 is even slower than N100 cpu, which is low power mobile laptop cpu.

Re:Raspberry Pi Zero 3W and Pi 4 Model A spotted in device trees on Wednesday October 28, 2026 @02:28AM (#50269887)
While the SoC maybe different, the FW on the Wireless SOC could be similar.

Short, <5 min video has already been a thing on youtube before tiktok. The most memorable one to me is "cat meme" and "failarmy"-style one.
>Any criminal sentence would have severely hampered that work. I heard that played on his mind a lot.

If only he continued the work, he would be POTUS someday.

A Subscription service increases its price ? Oh no how can that happen.
Re:New iMac with M6 on Tuesday October 27, 2026 @11:36PM (#50269084)
kuycon has a basically Apple display clone.

Huawei mateview is also quite eye-candy.

Re:New iMac with M6 on Tuesday October 27, 2026 @11:26PM (#50269003)
They are never as good as native input. There are a lot of compression going on that reduce image quality and increase latency.

Also they require software on both sides, so if you want to use your imac to display your computer BIOS, no.

Re:Amazon Is Gutting Its AI Division After Sustained Failure on Tuesday October 27, 2026 @11:13PM (#50268909)
The Chinese could definitely eat their lunch if the US didn't decide to limit access to SOTA hardware.

So you could argue their moat is US government, not their model. I don't disagree with you, just saying what is their real moat.

Re:Tailscale SSH: Investigation and remediation update on Tuesday October 27, 2026 @10:40PM (#50268728)
Yet another single point of failure.

I don't see the reason for Tailscale instead of plain old simple Wireguard, it's WG under the hood anyway.

Re:Genie 4 on Tuesday October 27, 2026 @10:20PM (#50268613)
Their "good games" is different from our "good games".

To us, games like BG3 or E33 are masterpiece, but let take a look the most profitable games, GTA V, that is their "masterpiece". R* Knows this and high chance GTA 6 will continue this trend, a passable story combined with top notch graphic and physic, which both AI is really good at already

Re:Genie 4 on Tuesday October 27, 2026 @10:15PM (#50268581)
BS, People already binge watching youtube back in the day. It's just the content is not as toxic as it is recently

What do they mean "Real" here ?

Re:Oldest GUI application that still runs on Windows 11 on Tuesday October 27, 2026 @12:18AM (#50254663)
Just like Python venv, The system is too broken that it's the only real practical fix
Re:Oldest GUI application that still runs on Windows 11 on Tuesday October 27, 2026 @12:03AM (#50254591)
Wasn't that Windows 8 ?
So Android is finally back to its root, a camera firmware.
Re:GPT-6.1 Terra on Monday October 26, 2026 @10:57PM (#50254226)
Too many models and too many knobs. There are like 5 models and 5 thinking levels, that is 25 different combinations.

Re:OLED iPad Mini on Monday October 26, 2026 @10:38PM (#50254111)
Lenovo Legion Y700, Well built, a little too flashy, put it in the case if you mind.
Re:The new iPad mini on Monday October 26, 2026 @10:33PM (#50254072)
Where do you find an iPad with M4 and OLED screen for $500 ?
Re:The new iPad mini on Monday October 26, 2026 @10:31PM (#50254060)
Is it new model or from last year, the shortage only began in last year.
Re:OLED iPad Mini on Monday October 26, 2026 @10:21PM (#50254000)
How is it better exactly, apart from the new SOC ?
Re:The new iPad mini on Monday October 26, 2026 @10:17PM (#50253969)
Really, my case it's opposite. I was quite happy with the 60hz on my ip13mini, even if my main phone is Android 120hz phone.
Re:Behind the scenes at the NeXT Computer office on Monday October 26, 2026 @06:23AM (#50241598)
This is why i pursuit embedded system. Writing code is 1 thing, seeing it manifest in physical world is just whole another thing.
Vibecoded and Rust, name a more iconic duo.
Re:Recreate the Apollo Guidance Computer on Monday October 26, 2026 @04:37AM (#50240849)

Re:The Curse of Soldered RAM on Monday October 26, 2026 @04:28AM (#50240779)
No, even in multiple RAM channel Server, the CPU is still socketed. That means all the data is going through a socket before reaching the CPU.

I agree there is draw back when using socket(mostly size), but performance is not the big issue.

MRDIMM RAM can reach even higher Transfer rate than LPDDR5, yet still socktable.

Re:Recreate the Apollo Guidance Computer on Monday October 26, 2026 @03:39AM (#50240381)
Even a modern MCU is vastly more powerful than the OG Apollo computer, why use Full Blow SBC ?
Re:The Curse of Soldered RAM on Monday October 26, 2026 @03:30AM (#50240314)
If the CPU can be socketed, there is no reason RAM can't be.
Re:The Curse of Soldered RAM on Monday October 26, 2026 @03:27AM (#50240287)
Lenovo uses it on their latest thinkpad t14.
